4. Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Bandar has narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa Khalid ibn Najih who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, sawiq is the food of the messengers’ or he (the Imam) said, ‘the food of the Prophets.’”
5. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from A number of our people have narrated from Ali ibn Asbat from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Sayabah from Jundab ibn ‘Abd Allah who has said the following: “I once heard abu al-Hassan, Musa, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, saying, sawiq was made by the instruction from the heavens.’”
6. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Yahya ibn al-Mubarak from ‘Abd Allah ibn Jabalah from Ishaq ibn ‘Ammar who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Dry sawiq removes whiteness (albinism).”’
7. Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Bandar and others have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from ‘Ubayd Allah ibn Muskan who has said the following: “I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, saying, ‘Drinking sawiq with oil grows flesh, strengthens the bones, softens the skin and increases al-Bah (sexual desire).”’
8. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Qutaybah al-‘A’sha’ who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Three handfuls of dry sawiq before breakfast absorbs phlegm and bile and it almost does not leave anything behind.’”
9. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from Ali ibn al-Hakam from al-Nadr ibn Qarwash who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, al-Awwal, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘If you turn sawiq seven times upside down and change its place from one pot into the other it then can remove fever and send power to the legs and feet.’”
10. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn abu Nasr from Hammad ibn ‘Uthaman and Muhammad ibn Sawqah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, sawiq digests heads (hard to digest food).”’ (See also Hadith 1 above).
11. Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Bandar has narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from Musa ibn al-Qasim from Yahya ibn Musawir who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, sawiq removes bitterness (bile) and phlegm from the stomach and dispels seventy kinds of illness.’”
12. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from his father from abu ‘Abd Allah, al-Barqiy from Bakr ibn Muhammad from Khaythamah who has said the following: “If one drinks sawiq for forty mornings his shoulder will fill up with strength.’”
13. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Musa ibn al-Hassan from al-Sayyariy from ‘Ubayd Allah ibn abu ‘Abd Allah who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, wrote from Khurasan to al-Madinah, ‘Do not make abu Ja‘far al- Thaniy to drink sawiq with sugar because it is bad for man.’ “Al-Sayyariy has explained it from ‘Ubayd Allah that it is undesirable for men because it weakens manhood desire due to its cold nature with sugar.”
14. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from ‘Abd Allah ibn Ja‘far from Muhammad ibn Khalid from Sayf al-Tammar who has said the following: “One of our friends became ill in Makkah and began to hallucinate. I went to see abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, and informed him (the Imam) about him. He (the Imam) said, ‘Make him drink sawiq of barley; it will cure him by the will of Allah and it is the food for the stomach of patients.’ He (the narrator) has said, ‘We made him drink it for two days or he said, ‘twice’ our friend was cured.’”
1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn Musa in a marfu‘ manner has said, the following: “Abu ‘ Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, sawiq of lintels calms down thirst, makes the stomach strong and there is cure for seventy illnesses in it. It abolishes yellowish fluid and gives coolness to the stomach. He (the Imam) would not travel without it. He (the Imam) said that when blood becomes excited with any of one’s associates, he (the Imam) said, ‘Drink sawiq of lintels because it calms down the excitement of blood and extinguishes the heat.’”*
2. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn Mahziyar from who has said the following: “We had a girl whose Hayd (menses) would not stop and she was about to die. Abu Ja’far, ‘Alayhi al- Salam, instructed to make her drink sawiq of lintels. She used the drink, bleeding stop and she was cured.’”
3. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from al-Sayyariy from Ibrahim ibn Bitam from a man of the people of Marv who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, once sent to us someone asking for sawiq and we sent to him (the Imam) sawiq mixed with ghee or oil. He (the Imam) returned it saying, ‘If one takes dry sawiq before breakfast it dispels temperature, calms down bitterness but when it is mixed it then does not have that effect.’”
1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Washsha’ from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following: “I once asked abu ’Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the master curries in this world and in the next life. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is meat. Have you not heard the words of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, ‘. . . meat of bird from that which they desire. 5 (56:21)”

2. Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Bandar has narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from Muhammad ibn Ali from ‘Isa ibn ‘Abd Allah al-‘Alawiy from his father from his grandfather who has said the following: “Ali, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Meat is the master food in this world and in the next life. 5 ”
وَ عَنْهُ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الرَّيَّانِ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) سَيِّدُ آدَامِ الْجَنَّةِ اللَّحْمُ .
3. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from Ali ibn al-Rayyan in a marfu‘ manner has said, the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘The master food in paradise is meat.’”
4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from certain persons of our people who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘The master food is meat.’”
عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بُنْدَارَ وَ غَيْرُهُ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يُوسُفَ عَنْ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَزْدِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى مَوْلَى آلِ سَامٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) إِنَّا نُرْوَى عِنْدَنَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى يُبْغِضُ الْبَيْتَ اللَّحِمَ فَقَالَ ( عليه السلام ) كَذَبُوا إِنَّمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) الْبَيْتَ الَّذِي يَغْتَابُونَ فِيهِ النَّاسَ وَ يَأْكُلُونَ لُحُومَهُمْ وَ قَدْ كَانَ أَبِي ( عليه السلام ) لَحِماً وَ لَقَدْ مَاتَ يَوْمَ مَاتَ وَ فِي كُمِّ أُمِّ وَلَدِهِ ثَلَاثُونَ دِرْهَماً لِلَّحْمِ .
5. Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Bandar and others have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from Muhammad ibn Ali from al-Hassan ibn Ali ibn Yusuf from Zakariya ibn Muhammad al-Azdiy from ‘Abd al-‘A’la’ Mawla’ Ale Sam who has said the following: “I once said to abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, ‘We narrate among us that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Allah, most Blessed, most High, disliked the house of meat.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘They have lied. The Messenger of Allah spoke only about the house in which people backbite and eat people’s meat. My father, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, liked meat and on the day he passed away, there was thirty dirham in the sleeve of the mother of his child to buy meat.’”
6. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Misma‘ abu Sayyar who has said the following: “Once, a man said to abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, ‘People before us narrate that Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, dislikes the house of meat.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘They have spoken the truth, but not as they think it is. It is in the sense that Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, dislikes the house in which people eat other peoples’ meat (backbite them).”’
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) لَحِماً يُحِبُّ اللَّحْمَ .
7. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from al-Husayn ibn abu al-‘Ala’ who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, ‘Liked meat a great deal.’”
8. Ahmad ibn Muhammad has narrated from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Sayf ibn ‘Amirah from al-Hassan ibn Harun who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Abu Ja‘far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, on the day he passed away, left thirty dirham to buy meat, because he was a man who liked meat.’”
عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ الْقَدَّاحِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) إِنَّا مَعَاشِرَ قُرَيْشٍ قَوْمٌ لَحِمُونَ .
9. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ja‘far ibn Muhammad al-Ash‘ariy from ibn al-Qaddah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘We members of Quraysh people like meat a great deal.’”
1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Hisham ibn Salim who has said the following: “Abu ‘ Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Meat grows meat and one who does not eat meat for forty days his manners change to worse, you must say Adhan in the ears of one whose manners change to worse.’”
2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn abu Nasr from al-Husayn ibn Khalid who has said the following: “I once said to abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, ‘People say that if one does not eat meat for three days his manners change to worse.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘They have spoken lies. However, one who does not eat meat for forty days his manners change and it is because the seed (sperm) transfers (from one stage of development to another) within the duration of forty days.”
3. Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Bandar and others from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah, from Muhammad ibn Ali from ibn Baqqah from al- Hakam ibn Ayman from abu ‘Usamah Zayd al-Shahham who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘One with whom forty days pass and has not eaten meat should borrow, on the credit of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, to buy meat to eat.’”
1. Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from certain persons of his people, I think Muhammad ibn ’Isma‘il who has said the following: “Certain ones among us mentioned two kinds of meat before abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’, ‘Alayhi al- Salam. He said, ‘No other meat is better than the meat of goat.’ Abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, looked at him and said, ‘Had Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, created any chunk of meat finer than that of sheep He would have presented that instead (of the ram) as ransom for ’Isma‘il, ‘Alayhi al-Salam.”’
2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from Sa‘d ibn Sa‘d who has said the following: “I once said to abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, ‘My family does not like the meat of sheep.’ He (the Imam) then asked, ‘Why do they not like it?’ I replied, ‘They say that it accelerates bitterness, headache and pains.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘O Sa‘d.’ I replied, ‘Yes, my Imam.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Had Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, considered anything more revered than sheep He would have presented it instead ( of the ram) as ransom for Tsma‘il, ‘Alayhi al-Salam.’”
3. Certain persons of our people have narrated from Ja‘far ibn Ibrahim al-Hadramiy from Sa‘d ibn Sa‘d who has said the following: “I once said to abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, ‘My family eats the meat of goats but not that of sheep.’ He (the Imam) asked, ‘Why they do so?’ I replied, ‘They say that it excites bitterness (stomach acid).’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Had Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, known anything better than sheep He would have presented it as ransom for Ishaq.’” This is how it has come in Hadith.
1. Muhammad ibn Yahya Ali ibn al-Hassan al-Mithamiy, from Sulayman ibn ‘Abbad, from ‘Isa ibn abu af-Ward from Muhammad ibn Qays who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Israelites complained before Musa, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, against illness of whiteness (albinism) and he (Moses) complained before Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, and Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, sent him revelation that said, ’Command them to eat cow meat with (white) beets.”’
2. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Yahya ibn al-Mubarak saw it to be from ‘Abd Allah ibn Jabalah from abu al-Sabbah al-Kinaniy who has said the following: “Abu ’Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ’Broth of cow meat expels whiteness (Albinism) illness.’”
3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Khalid from ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Mughirah from ’Isma‘il ibn abu Ziyad who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Cow milk and ghee (or fat) are cures but their meat is illness.’”
4. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ali ibn Hassan from Musa ibn Bakr who has said the following: “I once heard abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, saying, ‘Meat grows meat, but if one sends a morsel of shahm (fat) inside it expels the same amount of illness out.’”
5. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn abu Nasr from Hammad ibn ‘Uthaman from Muhammad ibn Sawqah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘If one eats a morsel of shahm (fat) it expels the same amount of illness out.’”
6. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn ‘Abd Allah from certain persons of his people (and) brought by Zurarah who has said the following: “I once said to abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, ‘I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause, ‘Al-Shahmah (the fat) that expels the same amount of illness, which shahmah is it?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is shahmah of al-Baqar (cow) and no one before you has asked me about it.’”
7. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Muhammad ibn ’Isma‘il ibn Bazi‘ from Yahya ibn Musawir who has said the following: “Abu Ibrahim, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, sawiq and broth of cow meat remove al-Bars (Albinism) illness.’”
1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Dawud al-Riqqiy who has said the following: “I once wrote to abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, and ask about the meat of camels of Khurasan and their milk. He (the Imam) said, ’It is not unlawful.”’
2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Hassan ibn Ali from Dawud al-Riqqiy who has said the following: “I once said to abu ‘ Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, ‘I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause, a man from the companions of abu al-Khattab prohibited eating the meat of camels of Khurasan and the meat of al-Musarwal (pigeons that have feathers on their legs). He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful to ride camel of Khurasan, drink their milk and eat the meat of al-Musarwal pigeons.’”
1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Khalid from ‘Amr ibn ‘Uthman in a marfu‘ manner has said the following: “’Amir al-Mu’minin has said, ’Duck is the buffalo of birds, a hen is like the pig in birds and black partridge is the turkey in birds. You should not miss the two fledgling that were brought up by the woman of Rabi’ah with the leftover of her sustenance/”
2. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from al-Sayyariy in a marfu‘ manner who has said the following: “Two kinds of meat were mentioned before ‘Umar and ’Umar said, ‘The better of the two kinds of meat is the meat of hen. ’Amir al-Mu’minin, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, said, ‘No, it is like pigs in birds and the better of the two kinds of meat is the meat of the chick that has just risen or is about to rise.”’
السَّيَّارِيُّ عَمَّنْ رَوَاهُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَقِلَّ غَيْظُهُ فَلْيَأْكُلْ لَحْمَ الدُّرَّاجِ .

Al-Sayyariy has narrated from those who narrated to him who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘If reducing one’s anger makes him happy he should eat partridge meat.’”
4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn Musa who has said that narrated to me Ali ibn Sulayman from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Muhammad ibn Hakim who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, al-Awwal, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Feed one who is suffering from fever with the meat of al-Qabaj (a kind of partridge) because it strengthens the legs and dispels fever completely.’”
5. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn Mahziyar from who has said the following: “I once had lunch with abu Ja’far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, and sand grouse was brought. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is blessed; my father liked it and would instruct to feed roasted to one who suffers from jaundice; it benefits him.’”
6. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from Ali ibn Sulayman from Marwak ibn ‘Ubayd from Nashit ibn Salih who has said the following: “I once heard abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, saying, ‘It is not unlawful to eat the meat of al- Habara ’ (bustard). It is good for hemorrhoids and back-pain and it helps increase the ability to go to bed with one’s wife.’”
عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ نَصْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ كَتَبْتُ إِلَى أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) أَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ لُحُومِ حُمُرِ الْوَحْشِ فَكَتَبَ ( عليه السلام ) يَجُوزُ أَكْلُهُ لِوَحْشَتِهِ وَ تَرْكُهُ عِنْدِي أَفْضَلُ .
1. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Nasr ibn Muhammad who has said the following: “I once wrote to abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, and asked about the meat of the wild donkeys. He (the Imam) wrote the answer that said, ‘It is not unlawful because of its being wild but not to eat is better to me.”’
1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from and Afi ibn Muhammad all from Ali ibn al-Husayn al-Tamimiy from Ayyub ibn Nuh from Safwan ibn Yahya from ‘Abd Allah ibn Jundab who has said the following: “I once heard abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, saying, ‘It is not unlawful to eat buffalo meat and the use of its milk and ghee for food.’”
2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn abu al-Hassan from Safwan from ‘Abd Allah ibn Jundab who has said the following: “I once asked abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the meat of a buffalos and its milk. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful to use such items for food.’”
عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ حَرِيزٍ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) نَهَى أَنْ يُؤْكَلَ اللَّحْمُ غَرِيضاً وَ قَالَ إِنَّمَا تَأْكُلُهُ السِّبَاعُ وَ لَكِنْ حَتَّى تُغَيِّرَهُ الشَّمْسُ أَوِ النَّارُ .
1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from Hariz from Zurarah who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, prohibited eating fresh (raw) meat and said that beasts eat fresh meat, thus it must be used for food only after it is changed by sun or fire.’”
2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Hisham ibn Salim who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, about eating fresh (raw) meat. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is the food of beasts.”’

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from al-Hassan ibn Ali from ‘Abd al-Samad ibn Bashir from ‘ Atiyyah brother of al-Mighra’ who has said the following: “I once said to abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, that companions of al-Mughirah prohibit eating of meat which is dried up in the sun and fire has not touched it. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful to eat it.’”
