    3- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنِ ابْنِ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ هَلْ يَجُوزُ أَنْ يَتَمَتَّعَ الرَّجُلُ بِالْمَرْأَةِ سَاعَةً أَوْ سَاعَتَيْنِ فَقَالَ السَّاعَةُ وَالسَّاعَتَانِ لا يُوقَفُ عَلَى حَدِّهِمَا وَلَكِنَّ الْعَرْدَ وَالْعَرْدَيْنِ وَالْيَوْمَ وَالْيَوْمَيْنِ وَاللَّيْلَةَ وَأَشْبَاهَ ذَلِكَ.

    3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal from ibn Bukayr from Zurarah who has said the following: “Concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of a man who marries a woman in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) for Sa‘ah or Sa‘ahtayn (one or two hours in the sense of the word before the invention of time clock). He (the Imam) said, ‘Sa‘ah or Sa‘ahtayn are not definite, however, they can set it as once or twice going to bed or one or two days and nights or similar things.’”

    4- مُحَمَّدٌ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ خَلَفِ بْنِ حَمَّادٍ قَالَ أَرْسَلْتُ إِلَى أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) كَمْ أَدْنَى أَجَلِ الْمُتْعَةِ هَلْ يَجُوزُ أَنْ يَتَمَتَّعَ الرَّجُلُ بِشَرْطِ مَرَّةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ قَالَ نَعَمْ.

    4. Muhammad has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Khalid from Khalaf ibn Hammad who has said the following: “I once sent (a message) to abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, and asked, ‘How much is the minimum duration of time in al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) and if it is permissible to set the time for only one time going to bed. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, it is permissible.’”

    5- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ سَمَّاهُ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَتَزَوَّجُ الْمَرْأَةَ عَلَى عَرْدٍ وَاحِدٍ فَقَالَ لا بَأْسَ وَلَكِنْ إِذَا فَرَغَ فَلْيُحَوِّلْ وَجْهَهُ وَلا يَنْظُرْ.

    5. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from ibn Faddal from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad from a man whom he mentioned who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of a man who married a woman (in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage)) for only once going to bed. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is permissible, however, when the specified time ends he must turn his face away and must not look.’”

    1- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ الرَّجُلُ يَتَزَوَّجُ الْمُتْعَةَ وَيَنْقَضِي شَرْطُهَا ثُمَّ يَتَزَوَّجُهَا رَجُلٌ آخَرُ حَتَّى بَانَتْ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ يَتَزَوَّجُهَا الأوَّلُ حَتَّى بَانَتْ مِنْهُ ثَلاثاً وَتَزَوَّجَتْ ثَلاثَةَ أَزْوَاجٍ يَحِلُّ لِلأوَّلِ أَنْ يَتَزَوَّجَهَا قَالَ نَعَمْ كَمْ شَاءَ لَيْسَ هَذِهِ مِثْلَ الْحُرَّةِ هَذِهِ مُسْتَأْجَرَةٌ وَهِيَ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الإمَاءِ.

    1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from certain persons of our people from Zurarah who has said the following: “I once asked abu Ja’far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, saying, ‘I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause, a man marries a woman in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) and its appointed time expires, then another man marries her and she becomes strangers to him then the first man marries her and she becomes stranger to him and this takes place three times and she marries three husbands; if it is permissible for the first man to marry her again. He (the Imam) said, ’Yes, it is permissible, as many times as he wants; it is not like a free woman. She is hired and her case is similar to slave-girls.’”

    2- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ أَبَانٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) فِي الرَّجُلِ يَتَمَتَّعُ مِنَ الْمَرْأَةِ الْمَرَّاتِ قَالَ لا بَأْسَ يَتَمَتَّعُ مِنْهَا مَا شَاءَ.

    2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from ‘Abd Allah ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Aban from certain persons of his people who has said the following: “About the case of a man who marries a woman in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) many times, abu ’Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘It is not unlawful, he can marry her in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) as many times as he wants.’”

    1- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبَانٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ حَنْظَلَةَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لأبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) أَتَزَوَّجُ الْمَرْأَةَ شَهْراً فَتُرِيدُ مِنِّي الْمَهْرَ كَمَلا وَأَتَخَوَّفُ أَنْ تُخْلِفَنِي فَقَالَ لا يَجُوزُ أَنْ تَحْبِسَ مَا قَدَرْتَ عَلَيْهِ فَإِنْ هِيَ أَخْلَفَتْكَ فَخُذْ مِنْهَا بِقَدْرِ مَا تُخْلِفُكَ.

    1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Fadalah abu Ayyub from ‘Umar ibn Aban from ‘Umar ibn Hanzalah who has said the following: “This is concerning my question before abu ‘ Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about if I marry a woman for one month and she wants all of the mahr (dower) from me, but I am afraid of her acting against me. He (the Imam) said, ‘You cannot withhold the mahr (dower) that is set but when she acts against the terms of marriage then you can take from her what is equal to what she has violated of the mutually agreed conditions.’”

    2- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ الْبَخْتَرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ إِذَا بَقِيَ عَلَيْهِ شَيْ‏ءٌ مِنَ الْمَهْرِ وَعَلِمَ أَنَّ لَهَا زَوْجاً فَمَا أَخَذَتْهُ فَلَهَا بِمَا اسْتَحَلَّ مِنْ فَرْجِهَا وَيَحْبِسُ عَنْهَا مَا بَقِيَ عِنْدَهُ.

    2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Hafs ibn al-Bakhtariy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘If something of mahr (dower) remains due on him and he learns that she has a husband, then what she has received belongs to her because of its making his going to bed with her lawful and he can withhold the remaining of mahr (dower).”’

    3- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ السِّنْدِيِّ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبَانٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ حَنْظَلَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ أَتَزَوَّجُ الْمَرْأَةَ شَهْراً فَأَحْبِسُ عَنْهَا شَيْئاً قَالَ نَعَمْ خُذْ مِنْهَا بِقَدْرِ مَا تُخْلِفُكَ إِنْ كَانَ نِصْفَ شَهْرٍ فَالنِّصْفَ وَإِنْ كَانَ ثُلُثاً فَالثُّلُثَ. مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ حَنْظَلَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) مِثْلَهُ.

    3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Salih ibn al-Sindiy from Ja’far ibn Bashir from ‘Umar ibn Aban from ‘Umar ibn Hanzalah who has said the following: “I once said to abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, ‘I marry a woman for one month and withhold a certain amount from her mahr (dower). He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, you can do so for what is equal to her violation of the condition. If the violation is half of the month you can withhold one-half, if it is one-third then withhold one-third.’ Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn al-Hakam from ‘Umar ibn Hanzalah from abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has narrated a similar Hadith.”

  9. 9926Al-Kafi

    4- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لأبِي الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) الرَّجُلُ يَتَزَوَّجُ الْمَرْأَةَ مُتْعَةً تَشْتَرِطُ لَهُ أَنْ تَأْتِيَهُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ حَتَّى تُوَفِّيَهُ شَرْطَهُ أَوْ تَشْتَرِطُ أَيَّاماً مَعْلُومَةً تَأْتِيهِ فِيهَا فَتَغْدِرُ بِهِ فَلا تَأْتِيهِ عَلَى مَا شَرَطَهُ عَلَيْهَا فَهَلْ يَصْلُحُ لَهُ أَنْ يُحَاسِبَهَا عَلَى مَا لَمْ تَأْتِهِ مِنَ الأيَّامِ فَيَحْبِسَ عَنْهَا مِنْ مَهْرِهَا بِحِسَابِ ذَلِكَ قَالَ نَعَمْ يَنْظُرُ مَا قَطَعَتْ مِنَ الشَّرْطِ فَيَحْبِسُ عَنْهَا مِنْ مَهْرِهَا بِمِقْدَارِ مَا لَمْ تَفِ لَهُ مَا خَلا أَيَّامَ الطَّمْثِ فَإِنَّهَا لَهَا فَلا يَكُونُ لَهُ إِلا مَا أَحَلَّ لَهُ فَرْجَهَا.

    4. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Ishaq ibn ‘Ammar who has said the following: “About the case of a man who marries a woman in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) with the condition that she must come to him every day to comply with the condition, or sets a condition to come to him in certain days; but she asks to be excused and does not come to comply with the condition; if it is proper for him to deduct for the days that she did not come and withhold from her mahr (dower) accordingly. To this question from me abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, said, ‘Yes, he can consider how much she has violated, then withhold proportionate to what she has not complied, except the days of her Hayd (menses); they are for her and he cannot have what is not lawful for him in matters of going to bed with her.’”

    5- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَشْيَمَ قَالَ كَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ الرَّيَّانُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ يَعْنِي أَبَا الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) الرَّجُلُ يَتَزَوَّجُ الْمَرْأَةَ مُتْعَةً بِمَهْرٍ إِلَى أَجَلٍ مَعْلُومٍ وَأَعْطَاهَا بَعْضَ مَهْرِهَا وَأَخَّرَتْهُ بِالْبَاقِي ثُمَّ دَخَلَ بِهَا وَعَلِمَ بَعْدَ دُخُولِهِ بِهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يُوَفِّيَهَا بَاقِيَ مَهْرِهَا أَنَّمَا زَوَّجَتْهُ نَفْسَهَا وَلَهَا زَوْجٌ مُقِيمٌ مَعَهَا أَيَجُوزُ لَهُ حَبْسُ بَاقِي مَهْرِهَا أَمْ لا يَجُوزُ فَكَتَبَ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) لا يُعْطِيهَا شَيْئاً لأنَّهَا عَصَتِ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ.

    5. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn Ahmad ibn ‘Ushaym who has said the following: “Al-Rayyan ibn Shabib wrote to abu al-Hassan , ‘Alayhi al-Salam, asking about a man who marries in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) for a certain amount of mahr (dower) for a certain number of days, pays her a part of her mahr (dower) and withholds the rest, then he goes to bed with her and before paying her the rest, learns that she has a husband who lives with her, if it is permissible for him to withhold the remaining of her mahr (dower) or it is not permissible. He (the Imam) wrote, ‘He must not give her anything because of her disobedience to Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious.’”

    1- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ تَغْلِبَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لأبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) إِنِّي أَكُونُ فِي بَعْضِ الطُّرُقَاتِ فَأَرَى الْمَرْأَةَ الْحَسْنَاءَ وَلا آمَنُ أَنْ تَكُونَ ذَاتَ بَعْلٍ أَوْ مِنَ الْعَوَاهِرِ قَالَ لَيْسَ هَذَا عَلَيْكَ إِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ أَنْ تُصَدِّقَهَا فِي نَفْسِهَا.

    1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Khalid from Muhammad ibn Ali from Muhammad ibn Aslam from Ibrahim ibn al-Fadl from Aban ibn Taghlib who has said the following: “I once said to abu ‘ Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, ‘I may find on my way a beautiful woman but I am not certain if she is married or is a prostitute.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not your responsibility; you can accept her words.’”

    2- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ فَضَالَةَ عَنْ مُيَسِّرٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لأبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) أَلْقَى الْمَرْأَةَ بِالْفَلاةِ الَّتِي لَيْسَ فِيهَا أَحَدٌ فَأَقُولُ لَهَا هَلْ لَكِ زَوْجٌ فَتَقُولُ لا فَأَتَزَوَّجُهَا قَالَ نَعَمْ هِيَ الْمُصَدَّقَةُ عَلَى نَفْسِهَا.

    2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Fadalah from Muyassir who has said the following: “I once said to abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, ‘I may find a woman in the wilderness where she has no one and I ask her if she has a husband. She says that she does not have a husband; if I can marry her. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, you can do so; her words are accepted.’”

    1- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ الْبَخْتَرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ فِي الرَّجُلِ يَتَزَوَّجُ الْبِكْرَ مُتْعَةً قَالَ يُكْرَهُ لِلْعَيْبِ عَلَى أَهْلِهَا.

    1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Hafs ibn af-Bakhtariy who has said the following: “About the case of a man who marries a virgin in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage), abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘It is detestable because of disgrace to her family.”’

    2- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ وَعَبْدِ اللهِ ابْنَيْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَلالِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) يَقُولُ لا بَأْسَ بِأَنْ يَتَمَتَّعَ بِالْبِكْرِ مَا لَمْ يُفْضِ إِلَيْهَا مَخَافَةَ كَرَاهِيَةِ الْعَيْبِ عَلَى أَهْلِهَا.

    2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad and ‘Abd Allah sons of Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Ziyad ibn abu al-Hallal who has said the following: “I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, saying, ‘Marriage with a virgin in the manner of al- Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) is permissible only if fear of disgrace to her family will not affect her.’”

    3- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) فِي الْبِكْرِ يَتَزَوَّجُهَا الرَّجُلُ مُتْعَةً قَالَ لا بَأْسَ مَا لَمْ يَفْتَضَّهَا.

    3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Muhammad ibn abu Hamzah from certain persons of his people who have said the following: “This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of a man who marries a virgin in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage). He (the Imam) said, ‘It is permissible if he does not destroy her virginity.’”

    4- عَلِيٌّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ جَمِيلِ بْنِ دَرَّاجٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَتَمَتَّعُ مِنَ الْجَارِيَةِ الْبِكْرِ قَالَ لا بَأْسَ بِذَلِكَ مَا لَمْ يَسْتَصْغِرْهَا.

    4. Ali has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Jamil ibn Darraj who has said the following: “This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of a man who marries a virgin girl in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage). He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful as long as she is not under age (or it does cause her humiliation).”’

    5- عَلِيٌّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ قُلْتُ الْجَارِيَةُ ابْنَةُ كَمْ لا تُسْتَصْبَى ابْنَةُ سِتٍّ أَوْ سَبْعٍ فَقَالَ لا ابْنَةُ تِسْعٍ لا تُسْتَصْبَى وَأَجْمَعُوا كُلُّهُمْ عَلَى أَنَّ ابْنَةَ تِسْعٍ لا تُسْتَصْبَى إِلا أَنْ يَكُونَ فِي عَقْلِهَا ضَعْفٌ وَإِلا فَهِيَ إِذَا بَلَغَتْ تِسْعاً فَقَدْ بَلَغَتْ.

    5. Ali has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from a man who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, ‘When is a girl not considered a child? Is it a girl who is six or seven years old?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘No, a nine-year-old girl is not considered a child and all of them are unanimous that a girl who is nine years old is not considered a child unless there is weakness in her reason, otherwise, when she becomes nine years old she becomes mature.’”

    1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu Nasr who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan al-Rida’, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Marriage in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) is not permissible with a slave-girl without the permission of her people.’”

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from ‘Abd Allah ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Aban ibn ‘Uthman from ‘Isa ibn abu Mansur who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘It is not unlawful to marry a slave-girl in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) by the permission of her master.’”

    3- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) هَلْ لِلرَّجُلِ أَنْ يَتَمَتَّعَ مِنَ الْمَمْلُوكَةِ بِإِذْنِ أَهْلِهَا وَلَهُ امْرَأَةٌ حُرَّةٌ قَالَ نَعَمْ إِذَا رَضِيَتِ الْحُرَّةُ قُلْتُ فَإِنْ أَذِنَتِ الْحُرَّةُ يَتَمَتَّعُ مِنْهَا قَالَ نَعَمْ. وَرُوِيَ أَيْضاً أَنَّهُ لا يَجُوزُ أَنْ يُتَمَتَّعَ بِالأمَةِ عَلَى الْحُرَّةِ.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Muhammad ibn ‘Isma’il who has said the following: “I once asked abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, ‘A man has a free wife; if he can marry a slave-girl in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) by the permission of her master.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, he can do so.’ It also is narrated that marriage of a slave-girl in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) when one has a free wife is not permissible.’”

    4- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ سَيْفِ بْنِ عَمِيرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ لا بَأْسَ بِأَنْ يَتَمَتَّعَ الرَّجُلُ بِأَمَةِ الْمَرْأَةِ فَأَمَّا أَمَةُ الرَّجُلِ فَلا يَتَمَتَّعْ بِهَا إِلا بِأَمْرِهِ.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Sayf ibn ‘Amirah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘It is not unlawful for one to marry in the manner of al- Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) the slave-girl of a woman but if the master is a man then al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) with her is not permissible without the permission of her master.’”

    1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father and A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from ibn abu Najran and Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn abu Nasr from ‘Asem ibn Hamid from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘ Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, ‘A woman gives birth because of marriage in the form of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage).’ He (the Imam) said, ‘The child is his child.’”

    2- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ وَغَيْرِهِ قَالَ الْمَاءُ مَاءُ الرَّجُلِ يَضَعُهُ حَيْثُ شَاءَ إِلا أَنَّهُ إِذَا جَاءَ وَلَدٌ لَمْ يُنْكِرْهُ وَشَدَّدَ فِي إِنْكَارِ الْوَلَدِ.

    2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from and others who has said the following: “He (the Imam), ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘The water (seed) belongs to man, he can place it (lawfully) wherever he wants, except that when the child comes he cannot deny him,’ and he (the Imam) placed great stress against denying the child.”

    3- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْمُخْتَارِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُخْتَارِ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ جَمِيعاً عَنِ الْفَتْحِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) عَنِ الشُّرُوطِ فِي الْمُتْعَةِ فَقَالَ الشَّرْطُ فِيهَا بِكَذَا وَكَذَا إِلَى كَذَا وَكَذَا فَإِنْ قَالَتْ نَعَمْ فَذَاكَ لَهُ جَائِزٌ وَلا تَقُولُ كَمَا أُنْهِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّ أَهْلَ الْعِرَاقِ يَقُولُونَ الْمَاءُ مَائِي وَالأرْضُ لَكِ وَلَسْتُ أَسْقِي أَرْضَكِ الْمَاءَ وَإِنْ نَبَتَ هُنَاكِ نَبْتٌ فَهُوَ لِصَاحِبِ الأرْضِ فَإِنَّ شَرْطَيْنِ فِي شَرْطٍ فَاسِدٌ فَإِنْ رُزِقَتْ وَلَداً قَبِلَهُ وَالأمْرُ وَاضِحٌ فَمَنْ شَاءَ التَّلْبِيسَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ لَبَّسَ.

    3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from al-Mukhtar ibn Muhammad al-Mukhtar Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn al-Hassan from ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Hassan all from al-Fath ibn Yazid who has said the following: “I once asked abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the conditions of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage). He (the Imam) said, ‘Of the conditions in it is setting up an appointed time and the amount of mahr (dower), if she agreed it then is lawful. You must not say as it is reported to me that people of Iraq say, “Water is mine and land is your land and I do not water your land except that if anything grows there it belongs to the owner of the land.” In such case, where there are two conditions (responsibility for the child and denying the child) in one condition, it is invalid. If she is granted a child he must accept him and the issue is clear. If anyone wants to commit fraud against his soul he does it.’”

    2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn abu Nasr who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan al-Rida’, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Marriage in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) can be with or without inheritance. There is inheritance if it is stipulated; and there is not any inheritance if it is not stipulated.’ It also is narrated that there is not any inheritance no matter a condition is set or is not set.’”

    1- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ قَالَ بَعَثَتْ إِلَيَّ ابْنَةُ عَمٍّ لِي كَانَ لَهَا مَالٌ كَثِيرٌ قَدْ عَرَفْتَ كَثْرَةَ مَنْ يَخْطُبُنِي مِنَ الرِّجَالِ فَلَمْ أُزَوِّجْهُمْ نَفْسِي وَمَا بَعَثْتُ إِلَيْكَ رَغْبَةً فِي الرِّجَالِ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّهُ أَحَلَّهَا اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فِي كِتَابِهِ وَبَيَّنَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) فِي سُنَّتِهِ فَحَرَّمَهَا زُفَرُ فَأَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ أُطِيعَ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَوْقَ عَرْشِهِ وَأُطِيعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) وَأَعْصِيَ زُفَرَ فَتَزَوَّجْنِي مُتْعَةً فَقُلْتُ لَهَا حَتَّى أَدْخُلَ عَلَى أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) فَأَسْتَشِيرَهُ قَالَ فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَخَبَّرْتُهُ فَقَالَ افْعَلْ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْكُمَا مِنْ زَوْجٍ.

    1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Bashir ibn Hamzah from a man from Quraysh who has said the following: “Once a daughter of my uncle, who was quite wealthy, sent me a message saying, ‘As you know, many men propose marriage to me, but I do not give myself in marriage to anyone and my message to you is not because of my desire for men except it has come to my notice that Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, has made it lawful in His book and the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, explained it in his Sunnah but Zafar prohibited and I like to obey Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, on His throne and obey the Messenger of Allah while Zafar has disobeyed. So marry me in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage).’ I replied, ‘Allow me to visit abu Ja‘far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, and ask him for his advice.’ I visited him (the Imam) and informed him (the Imam) about it and he (the Imam) said, ‘You can accept her proposal, may Allah grant you blessings as husband and wife.’”

    2- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ بَعْضِ رِجَالِهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَتَزَوَّجُ الْمَرْأَةَ مُتْعَةً أَيَّاماً مَعْلُومَةً فَتَجِيئُهُ فِي بَعْضِ أَيَّامِهَا فَتَقُولُ إِنِّي قَدْ بَغَيْتُ قَبْلَ مَجِيئِي إِلَيْكَ بِسَاعَةٍ أَوْ بِيَوْمٍ هَلْ لَهُ أَنْ يَطَأَهَا وَقَدْ أَقَرَّتْ لَهُ بِبَغْيِهَا قَالَ لا يَنْبَغِي لَهُ أَنْ يَطَأَهَا.

    2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yunus from certain persons of his people who has said the following: “This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of a man who marries a woman in the form of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) for an appointed time and one day she comes to him and says that she has committed fornication just before an hour or day; if he can go to bed with her when she has confessed her committing fornication. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not proper for him to go to bed with her.’”

    3- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ عَنْ زُرْعَةَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ سَمَاعَةَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ أَدْخَلَ جَارِيَةً يَتَمَتَّعُ بِهَا ثُمَّ أُنْسِيَ أَنْ يَشْتَرِطَ حَتَّى وَاقَعَهَا يَجِبُ عَلَيْهِ حَدُّ الزَّانِي قَالَ لا وَلَكِنْ يَتَمَتَّعُ بِهَا بَعْدَ النِّكَاحِ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ مِمَّا أَتَى.

    3. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from certain persons of his people from Zur’ah ibn Muhammad from Sanaa ‘ah who has said the following: “I once asked him (the Imam), ‘Alayhi al-Salam, ‘A man goes to bed with a girl (slave-girl) in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) and forgets to mention the conditions until he has gone to bed with her; if he must be punished as a fornicator. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, but he can take advantage after forming marriage and ask Allah to forgive him because of what he has done.’”

    4- أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ بَكَّارِ بْنِ كَرْدَمٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لأبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) الرَّجُلُ يَلْقَى الْمَرْأَةَ فَيَقُولُ لَهَا زَوِّجِينِي نَفْسَكِ شَهْراً وَلا يُسَمِّي الشَّهْرَ بِعَيْنِهِ ثُمَّ يَمْضِي فَيَلْقَاهَا بَعْدَ سِنِينَ قَالَ فَقَالَ لَهُ شَهْرُهُ إِنْ كَانَ سَمَّاهُ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ سَمَّاهُ فَلا سَبِيلَ لَهُ عَلَيْهَا.

    4. Ahmad ibn Muhammad has narrated from certain persons of our people from ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-’Aziz ibn ‘Isa ibn Sulayman from Bakkar ibn Kardam who has said the following: “This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of a man who meets a woman, then asks her to give herself in marriage in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) to him for a month; but does not identify the month. Times pass and he meets her after several years. He (the Imam) said, ‘Had he specified the month he deserved it, if the month was not specified he could not claim anything from her.’”

    5. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from certain persons of our people who have said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘It is not unlawful for a man to marry a woman in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) because of leaving herself at his disposal, but it is necessary to give her something; if anything happens to him she will not inherit his legacy.’”

    6- عَلِيٌّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لأبِي الْحَسَنِ مُوسَى (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) رَجُلٌ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً مُتْعَةً ثُمَّ وَثَبَ عَلَيْهَا أَهْلُهَا فَزَوَّجُوهَا بِغَيْرِ إِذْنِهَا عَلانِيَةً وَالْمَرْأَةُ امْرَأَةُ صِدْقٍ كَيْفَ الْحِيلَةُ قَالَ لا تُمَكِّنْ زَوْجَهَا مِنْ نَفْسِهَا حَتَّى يَنْقَضِيَ شَرْطُهَا وَعِدَّتُهَا قُلْتُ إِنَّ شَرْطَهَا سَنَةٌ وَلا يَصْبِرُ لَهَا زَوْجُهَا وَلا أَهْلُهَا سَنَةً قَالَ فَلْيَتَّقِ اللهَ زَوْجُهَا الأوَّلُ وَلْيَتَصَدَّقْ عَلَيْهَا بِالأيَّامِ فَإِنَّهَا قَدِ ابْتُلِيَتْ وَالدَّارُ دَارُ هُدْنَةٍ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ فِي تَقِيَّةٍ قُلْتُ فَإِنَّهُ تَصَدَّقَ عَلَيْهَا بِأَيَّامِهَا وَانْقَضَتْ عِدَّتُهَا كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ قَالَ إِذَا خَلا الرَّجُلُ فَلْتَقُلْ هِيَ يَا هَذَا إِنَّ أَهْلِي وَثَبُوا عَلَيَّ فَزَوَّجُونِي مِنْكَ بِغَيْرِ أَمْرِي وَلَمْ يَسْتَأْمِرُونِي وَإِنِّي الآنَ قَدْ رَضِيتُ فَاسْتَأْنِفْ أَنْتَ الآنَ فَتَزَوَّجْنِي تَزْوِيجاً صَحِيحاً فِيمَا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكَ.

    6. Ali has narrated from his father from certain persons of his people from Ishaq ibn ‘Ammar who has said the following: “I once asked abu al-Hassan, Musa, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of a man who marries a woman in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage), then people of her family leap in her case and give her in marriage publicly without her permission. She is a truthful person; if there is a solution to her case. He (the Imam) said, ‘She must not allow her husband to approach her until the condition (of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage)) and her waiting period is over/ I then said, ‘Her condition is for one year and her husband and her family do not wait for her/ He (the Imam) said, ‘Her first husband must feel fear of Allah and give up to her as charity the remaining of the time when she is being troubled. It is peace time and believing people live with Taqiyah (conceal their belief)/ I then said, ‘He has given such charity and her waiting period is also complete; now what she must do?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘She, in private, can say to him that her family had lept in her case and had given her in marriage to him without her permission, command and instructions and that now she agrees, so he must allow to solemnize the marriage all over again in a correct manner between the two of them/”

    7- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُعَمَّرِ بْنِ خَلادٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَتَزَوَّجُ الْمَرْأَةَ مُتْعَةً فَيَحْمِلُهَا مِنْ بَلَدٍ إِلَى بَلَدٍ فَقَالَ يَجُوزُ النِّكَاحُ الآخَرُ وَلا يَجُوزُ هَذَا.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Mu’ammar ibn Khallad who has said the following: “I once asked abu al-Hassan al-Rida’, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of a man who marries a woman in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) and then takes her from one town to another town. He (the Imam) said, ‘Another marriage is permissible but this is not permissible/”

    8- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ نُوحِ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى عُمَرَ فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي زَنَيْتُ فَطَهِّرْنِي فَأَمَرَ بِهَا أَنْ تُرْجَمَ فَأُخْبِرَ بِذَلِكَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) فَقَالَ كَيْفَ زَنَيْتِ فَقَالَتْ مَرَرْتُ بِالْبَادِيَةِ فَأَصَابَنِي عَطَشٌ شَدِيدٌ فَاسْتَسْقَيْتُ أَعْرَابِيّاً فَأَبَى أَنْ يَسْقِيَنِي إِلا أَنْ أُمَكِّنَهُ مِنْ نَفْسِي فَلَمَّا أَجْهَدَنِي الْعَطَشُ وَخِفْتُ عَلَى نَفْسِي سَقَانِي فَأَمْكَنْتُهُ مِنْ نَفْسِي فَقَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) تَزْوِيجٌ وَرَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ.

    8. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Nuh ibn Shu’ayb from Ali ibn Hassan from ‘ Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Kathir who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that once a woman came to ‘Umar and said, ‘I have committed fornication, so cleanse me/ He commanded to stone her to death ’Amir al-Mu’minin, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, was asked about it and he asked, ‘How did you commit fornication?’ She replied, ‘I was passing through wilderness and I became thirsty severely. I ask an Arab man for water but he refused unless I made myself available for him. When thirst increased and I feared for my life he gave me water and I availed myself for him.’ ’Amir al-Mu’minin said, ‘This is marriage by the Lord of al- Ka’bah.’” (She must have been unmarried so al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) was possible).

    9- عَلِيٌّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ رَجُلٌ جَاءَ إِلَى امْرَأَةٍ فَسَأَلَهَا أَنْ تُزَوِّجَهُ نَفْسَهَا فَقَالَتْ أُزَوِّجُكَ نَفْسِي عَلَى أَنْ تَلْتَمِسَ مِنِّي مَا شِئْتَ مِنْ نَظَرٍ أَوِ الْتِمَاسٍ وَتَنَالَ مِنِّي مَا يَنَالُ الرَّجُلُ مِنْ أَهْلِهِ إِلإ؛ أَنَّكَ لا تُدْخِلُ فَرْجَكَ فِي فَرْجِي وَتَتَلَذَّذَ بِمَا شِئْتَ فَإِنِّي أَخَافُ الْفَضِيحَةَ قَالَ لَيْسَ لَهُ إِلا مَا اشْتُرِطَ.

    9. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from ‘Ammar ibn Marwan who has said the following: “This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of a man who comes to a woman and asks her to marry in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) and she agrees with the condition that he can do whatever a wife and a husband do like looking, touching each other and so on, except inserting his private organ into her private organ. Apart from this he can enjoy in whatever way he likes because she is afraid of being disgraced.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘He cannot have anything more than what is stipulated.’”

    10- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَسْبَاطٍ وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ جَمِيعاً عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ مِسْكِينٍ عَنْ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) لِي وَلِسُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ قَدْ حَرَّمْتُ عَلَيْكُمَا الْمُتْعَةَ مِنْ قِبَلِي مَا دُمْتُمَا بِالْمَدِينَةِ لأنَّكُمَا تُكْثِرَانِ الدُّخُولَ عَلَيَّ فَأَخَافُ أَنْ تُؤْخَذَا فَيُقَالَ هَؤُلاءِ أَصْحَابُ جَعْفَرٍ.

    10. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ali ibn Asbat and Muhammad ibn al-Husayn all from Hakam ibn Miskin from ‘Ammar who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, once said to Sulayman ibn Khalid and I, ‘I have made al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) unlawful for you from my side as long as you are in al-Madinah because you come very often to me and I am afraid you will be caught and it will be said, “These are companions of Ja’far.’””

    1- الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُعَلَّى بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ رَأَى رَسُولُ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) امْرَأَةً فَأَعْجَبَتْهُ فَدَخَلَ عَلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ وَكَانَ يَوْمُهَا فَأَصَابَ مِنْهَا وَخَرَجَ إِلَى النَّاسِ وَرَأْسُهُ يَقْطُرُ فَقَالَ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّمَا النَّظَرُ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ فَمَنْ وَجَدَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ شَيْئاً فَلْيَأْتِ أَهْلَهُ.

    1. Al-Husayn from Muhammad from Mu’alla’ ibn Muhammad from al-Hassan ibn Ali from Hammad ibn ‘Uthaman who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, once saw a woman and he (the Messenger of Allah) liked her. He (the Messenger of Allah) then went to the house of ‘Umm Salamah because it was her day, and he (the Messenger of Allah) went to bed with her, then he (the Messenger of Allah) came out to people and water was dropping down from his head and he said, ‘O people, looking (to women) is from Satan; if one may experience such things he must go to his wife.’”

    2- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَمُّونٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ مِسْمَعٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) إِذَا نَظَرَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الْمَرْأَةِ الْحَسْنَاءِ فَلْيَأْتِ أَهْلَهُ فَإِنَّ الَّذِي مَعَهَا مِثْلُ الَّذِي مَعَ تِلْكَ فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ أَهْلٌ فَمَا يَصْنَعُ قَالَ فَلْيَرْفَعْ نَظَرَهُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَلْيُرَاقِبْهُ وَلْيَسْأَلْهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ.

    2. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Muhammad ibn al-Hassan al-Shammun from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Abd al- Rahman from Misma’ who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘If anyone of you looks to a beautiful woman he must go to his wife because what she has is just like what she has.’ A man then stood up and asked, ‘O Messenger of Allah, what about those who do not have any wives?’ He (the Messenger of Allah) said, ‘He must raise his head to the sky, have fear of Him and ask Him through His generosity.’”

    1- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الأشْعَرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ الْقَدَّاحِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ مَظْعُونٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ عُثْمَانَ يَصُومُ النَّهَارَ وَيَقُومُ اللَّيْلَ فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) مُغْضَباً يَحْمِلُ نَعْلَيْهِ حَتَّى جَاءَ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ فَوَجَدَهُ يُصَلِّي فَانْصَرَفَ عُثْمَانُ حِينَ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) فَقَالَ لَهُ يَا عُثْمَانُ لَمْ يُرْسِلْنِي اللهُ تَعَالَى بِالرَّهْبَانِيَّةِ وَلَكِنْ بَعَثَنِي بِالْحَنِيفِيَّةِ السَّهْلَةِ السَّمْحَةِ أَصُومُ وَأُصَلِّي وَأَلْمِسُ أَهْلِي فَمَنْ أَحَبَّ فِطْرَتِي فَلْيَسْتَنَّ بِسُنَّتِي وَمِنْ سُنَّتِيَ النِّكَاحُ.

    1. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ja’far ibn Muhammad al-Ash’ariy from ibn al-Qaddah who has said the following: “Abu ‘ Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that once wife of ‘Uthman ibn Maz‘un came to the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, and said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, ‘Uthman, fasts during the day and stands up for Salat (prayer) during the night.’ The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, came out with anger carrying his shoes until he reached ‘Uthman and found him performing Salat (prayer). When ‘Uthman completed, he saw the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, who said to him, “O ‘Uthman, why did Allah not sent me to behave like a monk, however, He has sent me to be right-minded, planner and magnanimous. I fast, perform Salat (prayer) and touch my wife. Whoever likes my nature (culture) must adopt my Sunnah (manners) and of my Sunnah is marriage.’”

    2- جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْقَدَّاحِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ لِرَجُلٍ أَصْبَحْتَ صَائِماً قَالَ لا قَالَ فَأَطْعَمْتَ مِسْكِيناً قَالَ لا قَالَ فَارْجِعْ إِلَى أَهْلِكَ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْكَ عَلَيْهِمْ صَدَقَةٌ.

    2. Ja’far ibn Muhammad has narrated from ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Qaddah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, once asked a man, ‘Are you fasting this morning?’ The man replied, ‘No, I am not fasting.’ He (the Messenger of Allah) asked, ‘Have you fed a destitute person?’ He replied, ‘No, I have not done so.’ He (the Messenger of Allah) then said, ‘Go to your family, it will be a charity from you to them.’”

    3- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَأَبُو عَلِيٍّ الأشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَكُونُ مَعَهُ أَهْلُهُ فِي السَّفَرِ لا يَجِدُ الْمَاءَ أَيَأْتِي أَهْلَهُ قَالَ مَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ يَفْعَلَ إِلا أَنْ يَخَافَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ قَالَ قُلْتُ طَلَبَ بِذَلِكَ اللَّذَّةَ أَوْ يَكُونُ شَبِقاً إِلَى النِّسَاءِ قَالَ إِنَّ الشَّبِقَ يَخَافُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ قُلْتُ يَطْلُبُ بِذَلِكَ اللَّذَّةَ قَالَ هُوَ حَلالٌ قُلْتُ فَإِنَّهُ يُرْوَى عَنِ النَّبِيِّ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) أَنَّ أَبَا ذَرٍّ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ سَأَلَهُ عَنْ هَذَا فَقَالَ ائْتِ أَهْلَكَ تُؤْجَرْ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ آتِيهِمْ وَأُوجَرُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) كَمَا أَنَّكَ إِذَا أَتَيْتَ الْحَرَامَ أُزِرْتَ فَكَذَلِكَ إِذَا أَتَيْتَ الْحَلالَ أُوجِرْتَ فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) أَلا تَرَى أَنَّهُ إِذَا خَافَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ فَأَتَى الْحَلالَ أُوجِرَ.

    3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father and Abu Ali al-Ash’ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Safwan from Ishaq ibn ‘Ammar who has said the following: “This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of a man who is on a journey with his wife and they cannot find water; if he can go to bed with his wife. He (the Imam) said, ‘I do not like it unless he is afraid for himself.’ I then asked, ‘Is it about the case of seeking to satisfy one’s lust or is about the case of pressing desire for women?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Pressing desire for women of one’s fear for one’s self.’ I then asked, ‘Can one seek thereby pleasure?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is lawful.’ I then asked, ‘It is narrated from the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, that once abu Dharr, may Allah grant him mercy, asked him about it and he (the Messenger of Allah) said, “You can go to your wife; you will be rewarded.” He asked, “O Messenger of Allah, I go to my wife and receive reward?” The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, said, “It is like when you commit an unlawful act; you have sinned, so also is the case of your doing a lawful act; you receive rewards.’” Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Consider when one fears his soul, then performs a lawful act; he then is rewarded.’”

    4- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيِّ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْجُعْفِيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) يَقُولُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) دَخَلَ بَيْتَ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فَشَمَّ رِيحاً طَيِّبَةً فَقَالَ أَتَتْكُمُ الْحَوْلاءُ فَقَالَتْ هُوَ ذَا هِيَ تَشْكُو زَوْجَهَا فَخَرَجَتْ عَلَيْهِ الْحَوْلاءُ فَقَالَتْ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي إِنَّ زَوْجِي عَنِّي مُعْرِضٌ فَقَالَ زِيدِيهِ يَا حَوْلاءُ قَالَتْ مَا أَتْرُكُ شَيْئاً طَيِّباً مِمَّا أَتَطَيَّبُ لَهُ بِهِ وَهُوَ عَنِّي مُعْرِضٌ فَقَالَ أَمَا لَوْ يَدْرِي مَا لَهُ بِإِقْبَالِهِ عَلَيْكِ قَالَتْ وَمَا لَهُ بِإِقْبَالِهِ عَلَيَّ فَقَالَ أَمَا إِنَّهُ إِذَا أَقْبَلَ اكْتَنَفَهُ مَلَكَانِ فَكَانَ كَالشَّاهِرِ سَيْفَهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَإِذَا هُوَ جَامَعَ تَحَاتُّ عَنْهُ الذُّنُوبُ كَمَا يَتَحَاتُّ وَرَقُ الشَّجَرِ فَإِذَا هُوَ اغْتَسَلَ انْسَلَخَ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ.

    4. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from his father from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad al-Jawhariy from Ishaq ibn Ibrahim al-Al-Ju‘fiy who has said the following: “I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, saying that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, once went to the house of ‘Umm Salamah, smelled a fine fragrance and asked, ’Had al-Hawla’ come to you?’ She replied, ’She is here, complaining against her husband.’ Al-Hawla then came out and said, ’I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause, my husband turns away from me.’ He (the Messenger of Allah) said, ‘Use more perfume, O Hawla’. She said, ‘I have not left any perfume without being tried to make him happy but he turns away from me.’ He (the Messenger of Allah) then said, ’I wish he learns what he receives by coming forward to you.’ She asked, ’What can he receive by being forthcoming to me?’ He (the Messenger of Allah) said, ‘If he comes to you he will be circled by two angels and he will be like one who has pulled his sword from its sheath in the way of Allah; and when he goes to bed with his wife, sins fall off of him like the falling of leaves from the tree and when he takes Ghusl (bath), he comes clean out of sins.”’

    5- الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُعَلَّى بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِي دَاوُدَ الْمُسْتَرِقِّ عَنْ بَعْضِ رِجَالِهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ إِنَّ ثَلاثَ نِسْوَةٍ أَتَيْنَ رَسُولَ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) فَقَالَتْ إِحْدَاهُنَّ إِنَّ زَوْجِي لا يَأْكُلُ اللَّحْمَ وَقَالَتِ الأخْرَى إِنَّ زَوْجِي لا يَشَمُّ الطِّيبَ وَقَالَتِ الأخْرَى إِنَّ زَوْجِي لا يَقْرَبُ النِّسَاءَ فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) يَجُرُّ رِدَاءَهُ حَتَّى صَعِدَ الْمِنْبَرَ فَحَمِدَ اللهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا بَالُ أَقْوَامٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِي لا يَأْكُلُونَ اللَّحْمَ وَلا يَشَمُّونَ الطِّيبَ وَلا يَأْتُونَ النِّسَاءَ أَمَا إِنِّي آكُلُ اللَّحْمَ وَأَشَمُّ الطِّيبَ وَآتِي النِّسَاءَ فَمَنْ رَغِبَ عَنْ سُنَّتِي فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي.

    5. Al-Husayn from Muhammad has narrated from Mu’alla’ ibn Muhammad from abu Dawud al-Mustariq from certain persons of his people who have said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Three women came to the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, and one of them said, “My husband does not eat meat.” The other one said, “My husband does not smell perfume.” The other one said, “My husband does not go near the woman.” The Messenger of Allah came out while his gown dragged behind him until he climbed on the pulpit, praised Allah and glorified Him; then said, “What has happened to certain people of my companions who do not eat meat, smell perfume and do not go near women. I however, eat meat, smell perfumes and go to women, thus, those who disregard my Sunnah are not of my people.’””

    6- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَمُّونٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ مِسْمَعٍ أَبِي سَيَّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) مَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَكُونَ عَلَى فِطْرَتِي فَلْيَسْتَنَّ بِسُنَّتِي وَإِنَّ مِنْ سُنَّتِيَ النِّكَاحَ.

    6. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Muhammad ibn al-Hassan al-Shammun from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Abd al- Rahman from Misma’ abu Sayyar who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Whoever loves to follow my nature (culture), he must follow my Sunnah; and of my Sunnah is marriage.’”

    1- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ مِسْكِينٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ قَالَ كَانَ لَنَا جَارٌ شَيْخٌ لَهُ جَارِيَةٌ فَارِهَةٌ قَدْ أَعْطَى بِهَا ثَلاثِينَ أَلْفَ دِرْهَمٍ فَكَانَ لا يَبْلُغُ مِنْهَا مَا يُرِيدُ وَكَانَتْ تَقُولُ اجْعَلْ يَدَكَ كَذَا بَيْنَ شُفْرَيَّ فَإِنِّي أَجِدُ لِذَلِكَ لَذَّةً وَكَانَ يَكْرَهُ أَنْ يَفْعَلَ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ لِزُرَارَةَ اسْأَلْ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) عَنْ هَذَا فَسَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ لا بَأْسَ أَنْ يَسْتَعِينَ بِكُلِّ شَيْ‏ءٍ مِنْ جَسَدِهِ عَلَيْهَا وَلَكِنْ لا يَسْتَعِينُ بِغَيْرِ جَسَدِهِ عَلَيْهَا.

    1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Khalid from Muhammad ibn Ali from Hakam ibn Miskin from ‘ Ubayd ibn Zurarah who has said the following: “In our neighborhood there lived an old man who had a beautiful slave-girl for whom he had paid thirty thousand dirham; but he was not able to reach the satisfaction from her what he wanted and she would say, ‘Place your hand between my two flanges, I feel the pleasure’, but he did not like to do so. He asked Zurarah to ask abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about it. Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al- Salam, said, ‘It is not unlawful, if he receives help from any part of his body to help her, but he must not seek help from what is other than his body to help her receive satisfaction.’”

    2- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الأشْعَرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ الْقَدَّاحِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) إِذَا جَامَعَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلا يَأْتِيهِنَّ كَمَا يَأْتِي الطَّيْرُ لِيَمْكُثْ وَلْيَلْبَثْ قَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ وَلْيَتَلَبَّثْ.

    2. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ja’far ibn Muhammad al-Ash’ariy from ibn al-Qaddah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘When anyone of you goes to bed (for sexual intercourse) with his wife, he must not go like birds do. He must stay in and persist.’ Certain ones have said that one must linger.”

    3- الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُعَلَّى بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْوَشَّاءِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ النَّحَّاسِ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ بَكْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) فِي الرَّجُلِ يُجَامِعُ فَيَقَعُ عَنْهُ ثَوْبُهُ قَالَ لا بَأْسَ.

    3. Al-Husayn from Muhammad has narrated from Mu’alla’ ibn Muhammad from al-Washsha’ from Ibrahim ibn abu Bakr al-Nahhas from Musa ibn Bakr who has said the following: “About the case of a man whose clothes during going to bed with his wife fall off, abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘It is not unlawful.’”

    4- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ هَمَّامٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُقَبِّلُ قُبُلَ الْمَرْأَةِ قَالَ لا بَأْسَ.

    4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ‘Isma’il ibn Hammam from Ali ibn Ja’far who has said the following: “I once asked abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of a man who kisses the vagina of a woman. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful.’”

    5- عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بُنْدَارَ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ النَّضْرِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مِسْكِينٍ الْحَنَّاطِ عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) أَيَنْظُرُ الرَّجُلُ إِلَى فَرْجِ امْرَأَتِهِ وَهُوَ يُجَامِعُهَا فَقَالَ لا بَأْسَ.

    5. Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Bandar has narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from his father from Ahmad ibn al-Nadr from Muhammad ibn Miskin al-Hannat from abu Hamzah who has said the following: “This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, if a man can look at the vagina of his wife during sexual intercourse. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful.’”

    6- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) فِي الرَّجُلِ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى امْرَأَتِهِ وَهِيَ عُرْيَانَةٌ قَالَ لا بَأْسَ بِذَلِكَ وَهَلِ اللَّذَّةُ إِلا ذَلِكَ.

    6. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from a man from Ishaq ibn ‘Ammar who has said the following: “About the case of a man who looks at his wife when she is nude, abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘It is not unlawful. Pleasure is but in such things.’”
