4. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yunus from certain persons of who narrated to him who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘If your clothes come in contact with wine or intoxicating al-Nabidh (a kind of wine), you must wash it, if you know the area but if you do not know the area then wash all of that cloth and if you have performed Salah (prayer) with it perform it again.’”
5. Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Khayran al-Khadim who has said the following: “I once wrote to the man, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, asking him about clothes which come in contact with wine and flesh of pig, if I can perform Salah (prayer) wearing such cloth or not. Our people have differences on the issue. Certain ones say, ‘You can perform Salah (prayer) with it because only drinking is unlawful.’ Certain others say, ‘You must not perform Salah (prayer) wearing them.’ He (the Imam) wrote, ‘You must not perform Salah (prayer) wearing them: it is rijs (filthy).’ I then asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about someone who borrows clothes from one whom he knows consumes al- Jirry (scale-less fish) or drinks wine. He then returns what he has borrowed. Can he perform Salah (prayer) wearing them before washing? He (the Imam) said, ‘He does not perform Salah (prayer) wearing them before washing.’”
6. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yunus ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman from ibn Muskan from abu Basir who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about a man who performs two Rak‘at Salah (prayer) wearing clothes in which one has experienced sexual relation, then he comes to know it. He (the Imam) said, ‘He is required to perform it from the beginning.’ He (the narrator) has said that he then asked him (the Imam) about one who performs Salah (prayer) wearing clothes in which sexual relation is experienced or there is blood in it. He completes his Salah (prayer) then he comes to know it. He (the Imam) said, ‘His Salah (prayer) is passed. He is not required to perform it again.”’
7. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from al-Hassan ibn Ali ibn ‘Abd Allah from ‘Abd Allah ibn Jabalah from Sayf from Mansur al- Sayqal who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about a man who experiences sexual relation during the night and takes Ghusl (bath). In the morning finds semen in his clothes. He (the Imam) said, ‘All praise belongs to Allah who has not left anything without a limit. If he gets up in the morning and looks but does not find anything, he is not required to perform his Salah (prayer) again, but if he gets up and does not look, he is required to perform his Salah (prayer) again.’”
8. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from al-‘Ala’ from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: I once asked one of the two Imam, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, about a man who finds blood in clothes of his brother while he is performing Salah (prayer). He (the Imam) said, ‘He is not required to inform him until he completes his Salah (prayer) again.’”
9. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Mughirah from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about a man who finds semen or blood in his clothes. He (the Imam) said, ‘If he learns before performing Salah (prayer) that there is semen in his clothes, then performs Salah (prayer) in it without washing; he is required to perform his Salah (prayer) again, but if he did not know, he is not required to perform his Salah (prayer) again. If he thinks that something has happened then investigates but does not see anything it is sufficient to pour water on it.’”

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Sinan from ibn Muskan who has said the following: “I once sent a question to abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, through Ibrahim ibn Maymun and told him to ask him (the Imam) about the case of a drop of urine found on one’s thigh but one performs Salah (prayer) and then remembers that he has not washed it. He (the Imam) said, ‘He is required to perform his Salah (prayer) again.’”
11. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Amir from Ali ibn Mahziyar from Fadalah from Aban from ‘Abd al- Rahman ibn abu ‘Abd Allah who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about a man who performs Salah (prayer) with clothes in which there is feces of human beings or cat or dog, if he is required to perform his Salah (prayer) again. He (the Imam) said, ‘If he did not know he is not required to perform his Salah (prayer) again.’”
12. Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Wash your clothes clean because of urine of all inedible animals.’”
13. Ahmad ibn Idris has narrated from Muhammad ibn Ahmad from Ahmad ibn al-Hassan ibn Ali from ‘Amr ibn Sa‘id from Musaddiq ibn Sadaqah from ‘Ammar who has said the following: “I once asked abu ’Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about a man who vomits in his clothes, if he can perform Salah (prayer) in them without washing. He (the Imam) said, ’It is not an offense to do so.’”
14. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Amir from Ali ibn Mahziyar from and Muhammad ibn Yahya from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali and Ali ibn Muhammad from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ali ibn Mahziyar who has said the following: “I read in the letter of ’Abd Allah ibn Muhammad to abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, in which he has said, ‘I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause. Zurarah has narrated for abu Ja’far, and abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, about wine which pollutes one’s clothes that the two Imam had said, “It is not an offense to perform Salah (prayer) with such clothes. Only drinking wine is unlawful.” People other than Zurarah have narrated from abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam. He (the Imam) has said, “If wine or al-Nabidh (a kind of wine) or any intoxicating thing pollutes your clothes, wash if you know the area of contact. If you do not know the area of contact, then wash all of such clothes. If you have performed Salah (prayer) with it perform such Salah (prayer) again.” Please instruct me which one I must follow. He (the Imam) wrote with his signature, “You must follow the words of abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam.’”
15. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from certain persons of our people from abu Jamil al-Basriy who have said the following: “Yunus and I were in Baghdad. I walked with him in the market. An owner of beer opened the container of his beer and drops from it came in contact with clothes of Yunus and I saw him depressed until it became Zawal (declining of the sun toward the west at noontime). I asked him, ‘O abu Muhammad, do you want to perform Salah (prayer)?’ He said, ‘I do not want to perform Salah (prayer) until I return home and wash this wine from my clothes.’ I then said, ‘Is this your opinion or it is something you narrate.’ He said, ‘Hisham ibn al-Hakam has narrated that he asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about beer. He (the Imam) said, ‘Do not drink it; it is unknown wine. If it pollutes your clothes, wash them clean.’”
16. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla’ ibn Muhammad, from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allah al-Wasitiy, from al-Qasim al-Sayqal who has said the following: “I once wrote to al-Rida’, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, saying, ‘I make sword sheathing of leather from dead donkeys. My clothes come in contact with it and I perform Salah (prayer) with them. He (the Imam), ‘Alayhi al-Salam, wrote to me, ‘Find other clothes for your Salah (prayer).’ I then wrote to abu Ja’far, the second, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, saying, ‘I would write to your father, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about such and such issues. It became difficult for me and I then began to make them from leather of wild donkeys, properly slaughtered.’ He (the Imam) wrote to me, ‘All good deeds require patience, I pray to Allah to grant you blessings. If what you do is from wild ones and properly slaughtered, then it is not harmful.’”
1. Muhammad ibn ’Isma‘il has narrated from al-Fadl ibn Shadhan, from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from Rib‘i, from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “I once asked abu Ja‘far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about a man’s performing Salah (prayer) with his face veiled. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not permissible while on the ground; however, while riding on a stumper is not an offense.’”
2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Fadalah ibn Ayyub from al-Husayn ibn ‘Uthman from ibn Muskan from abu Bakr al-Hadramiy who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about a man who performs Salah (prayer) with dyes (paint) on him. He (the Imam) said, ‘He must not perform Salah (prayer) while it is on him. He must remove it when he wants to perform Salah (prayer).’ I (the narrator) then asked, ‘Is it acceptable if it is inside a piece of fabric which is clean?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘He must not perform Salah (prayer) while it is on him and a woman also must not perform Salah (prayer) while it is on her.’”
3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘ Umayr from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Hajjaj who has said the following: “I once was with abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, when ‘Abd al-Malik al-Qummiy came and asked saying, ‘I pray to Allah to keep you well, I perform Sajdah (prostration) and my hands are inside my clothes. He (the Imam) said, ‘If you want, you can do so.’ He (the narrator) has said that he (the Imam) then said, ‘I, by Allah, am not afraid for you because of this and things similar to it.’”
4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Nu‘man from those who he has mentioned who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about a man who performs Sajdah (prostration) on the saddle while on horseback, has said, ‘He must clear the place for his Sajdah (prostration).”’
5. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Mahbub from Musadif who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about a man who bundles up his hairs on the top of his head, has said, ‘He is required to perform his Salah (prayer) again.’” (Fatwa best explains this Hadith.)

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following: “Abu ’Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘We instruct our children to perform Salah (prayer) when they are five years old. Instruct your children to perform Salah (prayer) when they are seven years old. We instruct our children to fast when they are seven years old if they can endure fasting even up to midday, or more than this or less. When thirst bothers them and hunger they discontinue the fast. This is to familiarize them with fasting to build their endurance to fast. So instruct your children to fast when they are nine years old and for as much of the day they can fast. When thirst bothers them, then you should allow them to discontinue their fast.’”
2. Muhammad ibn ’Isma‘il has narrated from al-Fadl ibn Shadhan from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from Rib‘i ibn ‘Abd Allah from Fudayl ibn Yasar who has said the following: “Ali ibn al-Husayn, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, would instruct children to perform Salah (prayer) of al-Maghrib and al-‘Isha’ soon, one after the other, saying that it is better for them than falling asleep.”

Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla’ ibn Muhammad from al-Washsha’ from al-Mufaddal ibn Salih from Jabir who has said the following: “I once asked abu Ja‘far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about children when they line up for obligatory Salah (prayer). He (the Imam) said, ‘Do not push them back from obligatory but separate them from each other (boys from girls).’”
1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Hanan ibn Sadir from his father who has said the following: “I once asked abu Ja’far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, ’Do you perform optional Salah (prayer) in a sitting position? He (the Imam) replied, ‘I perform them in a sitting position only from the time I have gained this much weight and reached this age.’”
2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn abu Hamzah from abu Basir who has said the following: “I once said to abu Ja’far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, that we speak and say that whoever performs Salah (prayer) in a sitting position without good reason, his two Rak’at are counted as one Rak’at and his two Sajdah (prostration) are counted as one Sajdah (prostration). He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not that way. It is complete for you.’”
3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘ Umayr from Jamil ibn Darraj who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about a man who suffers from an illness. In what condition he is allowed to perform Salah (prayer) in a sitting position? He (the Imam) said, ‘A man is unwell and experiences anguish; however, he knows better about himself. When he is able he must stand up.’”
4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from Hariz from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about a man and a woman who lose their eyesight. Physicians say that they can treat them within a month or forty nights while they remain lying down on their back. Can they perform Salah (prayer) in this condition? He (the Imam) gave permission saying, ‘(Permission is granted to) those who are compelled and they are not rebels and transgressors. It is not a sin on them. (2:168)’”
5. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about a man who suffers from an illness and is not able to stand up and perform Sujud (prostrations). He (the Imam) said, ‘He is required to perform his Salah (prayer) by making gestures with his head, and placing his forehead on the ground is lovelier to me.’”
6. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Amir in a marfu‘ manner from Jamil ibn Darraj from Zurarah who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘People suffering from illness can make gestures in their Salah (prayer).”’
7. Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad ibn abu Nasr from ibn Bukayr from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “I once asked abu Ja‘far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of one who suffers from an internal illness because of which is not able to control anal discharge. He (the Imam) said, ‘He continues his Salah (prayer) wherever in Salah (prayer) he is.’”
8. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Amir from Ali ibn Mahziyar from Fadalah from Aban from Zurarah who has said the following: “I once asked abu Ja’far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about a man who performs Salah (prayer) in a sitting position. He recites Surah (chapter). When he wants to complete it he stands up then performs Ruku‘ (bowing down on one’s knees). He (the Imam) said, ‘His Salah (prayer) is like that of the one who performs it in a standing position.’”
9. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Mughirah from Mu‘awiyah ibn Maysarah who has said the following: “Sinan once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about a man who during Salah (prayer) stretches one of his legs in his front while he is sitting. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful.’ I do not think except that he (the Imam) said it about one with health problems or illness. In another Hadith it is said that he can perform Salah (prayer) folding his legs in a square shape or stretch them, all of it is permissible.”
10. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Mughirah from Sama‘ah who has said the following: “He (the Imam), ‘Alayhi al-Salam, was asked about the captive of the pagans. It becomes time for Salah (prayer) and the captor does not allow him to perform Salah (prayer). He (the Imam) said, ‘He performs Salah (prayer) by making gestures.’”
11. Ali has narrated from his father from ibn Mahbub from abu Hamzah who has said the following: “About the words of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, ‘. . . those who speak of Allah, standing, sitting and while lying on their sides. . .’ (32:15) abu Ja‘far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘A healthy person performs Salah (prayer) standing. One suffering from an illness performs Salah (prayer) sitting, and ‘on their sides’ is for one who is weaker than a patient who performs Salah (prayer) in a sitting position.’”

Ali has narrated from his father from those who narrated to him who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘One suffering from an illness performs Salah (prayer) in a sitting position; if one cannot do this also, one does so while lying on one’s back, says Takbir (Allah is great beyond description) then recites. For Ruku‘ (bowing down on one’s knees) closes his eyes, then says Tasbih (Allah is free of all defects), then opens his eyes. Opening one’s eyes is considered standing up from Ruku‘ (bowing down on one’s knees). For Sajdah (prostration) one closes one’s eyes, then says Tasbih (Allah is free of all defects) and then opens one’s eyes which is considered raising one’s head from Sajdah (prostration). Then one says Tashahhud (testimonies of belief) and ends Salah (prayer).”’
13. Ahmad ibn Idris has narrated from Muhammad ibn Ahmad from Ahmad ibn al-Hassan from ‘Amr ibn Sa‘id from Musaddiq ibn Sadaqah who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about a man who suffers from an illness: if it is permissible to stand up on his floor furnishing and perform Sajdah (prostration) on earth. He (the Imam) said, ‘If the furnishing is thick of the size of a brick or less, he can stand up on it and perform Sajdah (prostration) on earth, but if it is more than that, then it is not permissible.’”

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn Hadid from Murazim who has said the following: “I once asked abu ’Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of one who is ill and is not able to perform Salah (prayer). He (the Imam) said, ‘One whom Allah has over powered, then Allah is the first to pardon.”’
2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Hajjal from Tha’labah ibn Maymun from Ma‘mar ibn ‘Umar who has said the following: “I once asked abu Ja‘far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about one suffering from illness if one is required to perform one’s Salah (prayer) again which is missed during the time of fainting condition. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, one is not required to perform such Salah (prayer) again.’”
3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yunus from Ibrahim al-Khazzaz abu Ayyub who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about a man who remains fainted for several days, unable to perform any Salah (prayer), who then gains consciousness; if he is required, what is missed, to perform his Salah (prayer) again. He (the Imam) said, ‘He is not obligated to perform it again.’”
4. Ali ibn Muhammad and Muhammad ibn al-Hassan has narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from ibn Mahbub from ibn Ri’ab from abu Basir who has said the following: “I once asked one of the two Imam, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, about a patient who faints and then gains consciousness, if he is required to perform his Salah (prayer) again. He (the Imam) said, ‘He is required to perform only those Salah (prayer) again for which there was still time after his gaining consciousness.’”
5. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Hammad, from Hariz from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “I once said to him (the Imam), ‘Alayhi al-Salam, ‘There is a man who has become ill and has omitted optional Salah (prayer).’ He (the Imam) said, ‘O Muhammad, it is not obligatory Salah (prayer). If he performs, it is a good deed that he does. If he did not do, he is not required to perform it.’”

A group has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Safwan from al-‘Is ibn al-Qasim who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about a man upon whom Salah (prayer) for one year has accumulated because of illness. He (the Imam) said, ‘He is not required to perform such Salah (prayer).”’

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from and Muhammad ibn ’Isma‘il from al-Fadl ibn Shadhan all from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Hafs ibn al-Bakhtariy who has said the following: “I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, say about one fainted because of illness, ‘Whomever Allah overpowers, Allah is the first to pardon.’”
1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from al-Husayn ibn al-Mukhtar from abu Basir who has said the following: “I heard abu Ja‘far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, saying, ‘The sun does not shine on anything (other days) more excellent than Friday.”’
2. It is a narration from him (narrator of previous Hadith) by Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from al-Nadr ibn al- Suwayd from ’Abd Allah ibn Sinan from Hafs al-Bakhtariy from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “Abu Ja’far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘On Fridays, prominent angels come down with paper of silver and pens of gold and sit on the doors of Masjids on chairs of light and write people according to their grades such as first, second . . . until the Imam (prayer leader) comes out. When he comes out they (angels) roll up their pages and do not descend again until next Friday.’”

Ahmad has narrated from al-Husayn from al-Nadr ibn al-Suwayd from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘The Messenger of Allah loved it, when traveling or coming home in winter, to be on Friday nights.’ Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has also said, ‘Allah has chosen something from everything. From days He has chosen Friday.’”
4. The narrator of previous Hadith has also narrated from al-Nadr from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘The hour of Friday wherein prayers are answered is the time when the prayer leader completes the sermons, until people get ready in rows for Salah (prayer). The other hour is the time at the end of the day to sunset.’”
5. Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from ibn abu Nasr who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan al-Rida, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, that the Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Friday is the master of days. On this day Allah increases good deeds and obliterates bad deeds, raises the degrees, answers prayers, removes hardships and makes great wishes come true. It is the day wherein Allah increases the number of those He emancipates and sets free from fire. Whoever prays in this day to Allah with full knowledge of His rights and respect, it then becomes necessary for Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, to emancipate and free him from the fire. If he dies on this day or night, he has died a martyr and will be resurrected with full protection. Whoever neglects to respect Him and fails to observe His right, it then becomes a right upon Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, to make him feel the heat of hell unless he repents.’”

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from ‘Abd Allah ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Aban who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘For Friday there are rights and respect, you must not fail to observe them or have shortcomings in worshipping Allah or in striving to become nearer to Him through good deeds and through refraining from all prohibited matters. Allah on this day increases good deeds, obliterates bad deeds and raises degrees of excellence.’ The narrator has said that the Imam then said, ‘Friday night is like its day. If you can, stay awake all night in Salah (prayer) and supplication; your Lord in the beginning of Friday night (commands an angel who) descends to the first heaven, (he) increases good deeds, obliterates bad deeds and Allah’s kindness is vast and graceful.’”
7. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn Musa from al-‘ Abbas ibn The Ma’ruf from ibn abu Najran from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan from ibn abu Ya‘fur from abu Hamzah who has said the following: “Abu Ja’far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, in answer to a question, ’How was Friday called Friday?’ The Imam said, ’Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, brought His creatures under the Divine Authority of Muhammad, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, and the Executor of his will during “the divine Covenant session”, and that session was called “al-Jumu‘ah” (the assembly) because of His calling His creatures together.’”
8. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from Ali ibn al-Nu‘man from ‘Umar ibn Yazid from Jabir who has said the following: “Someone asked abu Ja’far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about Friday and its night. The Imam replied, ’Friday night is the finest; its day is brilliant. There is no other day in which sunset takes place with as many rescued from the fire as is on Friday. If one dies on Friday while fully acknowledging the rights of Ahl al-Bayt (people of this house), Allah writes for him the certificate of freedom from the fire and punishment. If one dies on a Friday night, he is set free from the fire.’”
9. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Khalid from al-Nadr ibn al-Suwayd from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Allah has given excellence to Friday over other days. On Friday, decoration and beautification takes place in paradise for those who attend it (Friday). You race to paradise proportionate to the degree of your attending Friday. On Friday the doors of heavens open for the deeds of servants (of Allah).”’
