1. Ali ibn Ibrahim ibn Hashim has narrated from his father from Muhammad ibn abu ‘Umayr from Ishaq ibn ‘Ammar who has said the following: “Abu ‘ Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ’Love for women is of the moral manners of the prophets.’”
2. Muhammad ibn Yahya al-‘ Attar has narrated from ‘Abd Allah ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Aban ibn ‘Uthman from ‘Umar ibn Yazid who has said the following: “Abu ’Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘I do not think a man can increase anything good in his belief except that he increases his love for women.’”
3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Mu’ammar ibn Khallad who has said the following: “I once heard al-Rida’, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, saying, ‘Three things are of the traditions of the Messengers (of Allah): use of perfume, trimming hairs and ampleness of (relation in) marriage.’”
4. Muhammad ibn ‘Isma’il has narrated from al-Fadl ibn Shadhan from and Ali ibn Ibrahim from his father all from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Ibrahim ibn ‘Abd al-Hamid who has narrated the following: “Sukayn al-Nakha‘iy worshipped and had given up women, perfume and food. He wrote to abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, and asked him (the Imam) about it. He (the Imam) wrote to him in answer, ‘About your words concerning women, take notice about the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, how many women he (the Messenger of Allah) had, and about food you must take notice that the Messenger of Allah ate meat with honey.’”
5. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Salih al-Sindiy from Ja’far ibn Bashir from Aban from ‘Umar ibn Yazid who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘I do not think anyone increases goodness in this issue (belief in the Divine Authority of ‘A’immah) without his increasing love for women.’”
6. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Hafs ibn al-Bakhtariy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘I do not love anything from your world except women and perfume.’”
7. Muhammad ibn abu ‘Umayr has narrated from Bakkar ibn Kardam from more than one person who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘The delight for my eyes is placed in Salat (prayer) and my pleasure in women.’”
8. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Salmah ibn al-Khattab from Ali ibn Hassa’n from certain persons of our people who has said the following: “We once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, ’What is the most enjoyable thing? 5 We said other things. He (the Imam) said, ’The most enjoyable of things is sexual intercourse with women.”’
9. Al-Husayn from Muhammad has narrated from Mu’alla’ ibn Muhammad from af-Hassan ibn Afi from Hammad ibn ‘Uthman from ‘Umar ibn Yazid who has said the foflowing: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘The delight of my eyes is placed in Salat (prayer), my enjoyment of the world in women and my comfort and relief with al-Hassan and al-Husayn, ‘Alayhi al-Salam.”’
10. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah al-Barqiy from al-Hassan ibn abu Qatadah from a man from Jamil ibn Darraj who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘The most enjoyable thing people experience in this world and in the hereafter is enjoyment with women and it is in the words of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, ‘The love and enjoyment for women and children is made attractive for people.’ (3:13) He (the Imam) then said, ‘People of paradise will not enjoy from anything else as much as they will with marriage, but not from food or drink.’”

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from his father from Sulayman ibn Ja’far al-Ja’fariy from those whom he has mentioned who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘I never saw anyone more snatching from an intelligent person, than these weak in religion, deficient of reason; you women are.’”
2. Ahmad ibn al-Hajjal has narrated from Ghalib ibn ‘Uthman from “Uqbah ibn Khalid who has said the following: “I once went to see abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, and he (the Imam) came to me saying, ‘O ‘Uqbah, the women held us back from meeting you.”’

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from af-Nawfafiy from af-Sakuniy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, or ‘Amir al- Mu’minin has said, ‘Women are of four kinds: a universal goodness, a fountain of breeding, an oppressive over-burdening or feed for parasites.”’
2. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ali ibn Asbat from Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Hajjaj from ‘Abd Allah ibn Mus’ab al-Zubayriy who has said the following: “I once I heard abu al-Hassan, Musa ibn Ja‘far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam - while we were sitting in the Masjid of the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause - discussing issues about women and we delved in it a great deal but he (the Imam) was quiet and did not enter in our discussion not even with one word; but when we became quiet then I heard him (the Imam) saying, ‘As far as free ones are concerned you must not speak about them, however, the best slave-girl is one whom you love, who has power of reason and moral discipline so you do not need to command or prohibit. Next to this is the one whom you love but does not have moral discipline and you need to command and prohibit. Next to this is the one whom you love but who does not have the power of reason and moral discipline and you have to exercise patience because of your love. Next to this is the slave-girl whom you do not love, she does not have the power of reason or moral discipline and you keep between yourself and her, the green ocean.’ He (the narrator) has said, ‘I then held my beard and wanted to make the sound of loud flatus because of our so much delving and without reaching any meaningful point and for his comprehensive words. He (the Imam) said, ‘Hold it, if you did it I will not sit with you.’”

A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from all ibn Mahbub from Ibrahim al-Karkhiy who has said the following: “I once said to abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, ‘My wife who lived in complete harmony with me has died and I want to marry.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Think where you want to place yourself and whom you are making your partner in your assets, inform of your religion and secrets. If you must marry find a virgin who is spoken of with goodness and of good moral discipline. You must take notice that women are as it is said: ‘Women are of various moral manners; among them are gains and losses. Among them are lawful when she shines for her companion and among them is darkness. Whoever succeeds in finding the righteous among them is a sure fortunate but one who is cheated cannot revenge. ‘They are of three kinds; one kind is a child bearing and loving who helps her husband all the time in the worldly as well as the matters of the hereafter and the world does not work against her. The other kind is woman who is barren without beauty and moral manners and does not help her husband in anything good, she is loud and noisy, roaming around and faultfinding who considers a great deal very little and does not accept things of lesser amount.’”
4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Safmah ibn al-Khattab from Sulayman ibn Sama‘ah from al-Hadhdha’ from his uncle, ‘Asem who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ’Women are of four kinds: Goodness in all respects, a child bearing fountain, a dimwitted destructive one and feed for parasites.”’

A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad and Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn ‘Isa and Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from all from al-Hassan ibn Mahbub from Ali ibn Ri’ab from abu Hamzah who has said the following: “I once heard Jabir ibn ‘Abd Allah saying, ‘Once we were with the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, when he said, “The best of your women are the child bearing, loving and chaste who are dear at home, humble with her husband, showing her beauty to her husband, fortressed from strangers, who listens to his words and obeys his orders and in private offers to him what he wants and she does not display vulgar manners as man does.’””
2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid al-Barqiy from Ahmad ibn abu Nasr from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from abu Basir who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘The best of your women are those who in privacy removes the shield of shyness before her husband and when dressed up dresses with him the shield of shyness.’”
3. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Mu’alla’ ibn Muhammad from certain persons of his people from Aban ibn ‘Uthman from Yahya ibn abu al-‘Ala’ and al-Fadl ibn ‘Abd al-Malik who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘The best of your women is the chaste and full of carnal appetite.’”
4. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from al-Nawfaliy from al-Sakuniy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘The best of the women of my followers are those who have a beautiful face and the least amount of Mahr (dowry).’”
5. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Barqiy from ‘Isma’il ibn Mehran from Sulayman al- Ja‘fariy who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan al-Rida’, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘The best of your women are five.’ It was asked, ‘O ’Amir al-Mu’minin what kind of five are they?’ He (the Imam) replied, ‘Simple, nice and suitable, when her husband becomes angry, does not neglect him until he is pleased, and when he is absent she protects him in his absence and that is a worker from Allah and the worker from Allah does not fail.’”
6. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from Muhammad ibn Sinan from certain persons of his people who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘The best of your women are those who smell nice, cook nice and when spending she spends what is proper and withholds what is proper. That is a worker from Allah and a worker from Allah does not fail or become regretful.’”
7. Humayd ibn Ziyad has narrated from al-Hassan ibn Musa al-Khashshab from af-Hassan ibn Afi ibn Yusuf ibn Baqqah from Mu’adh al-Jawhariy from ‘(Belief in the Divine Authority of ‘ A’immah) ibn Jami’ who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘The best of your women are those who cook nice, smell nice, when spending she spends what is proper and withholds what is proper. That is a worker from Allah and a worker from Allah does not fail.’”

A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad and Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad and Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father all from ibn Mahbub from ibn Ri’ab from abu Hamzah from Jabir who has said the following: “I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, saying that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘If you like I can tell you who are of the worst kind of your women. She is the one who is undignified in her family, flattered by her husband, barren, spiteful, who does not abstain from indecency, roams around to show off in the absence of her husband and very reserved when her husband is present. She does not listen to his words and does not obey his orders and in private she refuses to yield to him like recalcitrant animal who refuses to allow riding. She does not accept any of his excuses and does not forgive any of his sins.’”
2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from certain persons of his people from Milhan from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘The wicked ones of your women is one who is barren, filthy, quarrelsome, disobedient, undignified among her people and honored to herself, reserved in the presence of her husband but shows others to be of great carnal appetite.’”
3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from al-Nawfaliy from al-Sakuniy who has narrated the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that of the prayers of the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, was this, ‘I seek refuge with You, O Lord, against a woman who makes me become old before my becoming old.’”
1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Hammad ibn ‘Uthaman who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘The best of women who ever rode a camel on their wedding to the house of their husband are the women of Quraysh who are most compassionate to their children and are the best of them for their husband. 5 ”
2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah al-Barqiy from more than one person from Ziyad al-Qandiy from abu Waki‘ from abu Ishaq al-Sabi‘i from al-Harith al-A’war who has said the following: “‘Amir al-Mu’minin, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘The best of your women are the women of Quraysh who are very kind to their husbands, most compassionate to their children, al-Majun with her husband and very reserved before the others . 5 We asked, ‘What is al- Majun ?’ He (the Messenger of Allah) said, ‘It is the one who does not deny her husband . 555

Abu Ali al-Ash’ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Safwan from Ishaq ibn ‘Ammar from abu Basir who has said the following: “One of the two Imam, (abu Ja 5 far or abu ‘Abd Allah), ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘When the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, proposed for marriage to ‘Umm Haniy daughter of abu Talib, she said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, I am a grieved widow and I have orphans in my lap, thus, the most suitable for you is a woman who is free . 5 The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, said, ‘No women have ever ridden a camel on their wedding to the house of their husbands more compassionate to their children and caring for their husbands than the women of Quraysh .
1. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ja’far ibn Muhammad al-Ash’ariy from ‘Abd Allah ibn Maymun al- Qaddah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘There is not anything more beneficial to a man after his accepting Islam than a Muslim woman who pleases him when he looks at her, gives when he asks and protects his interests in his absence.’”
2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal from Ali ibn ‘Uqbah from Burayd ibn Mu‘awiyah al-‘Ijliy who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far, Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, has said, “When I want to bring together for a Muslim the goodness of this and the next life, I place in him a heart that shows reverence (to Me), a tongue that speaks (of Me), a body that bears patience in hardships and a believing wife who gives him joy when he looks to her and who protects his interest in his absence.’”
3. Muhammad ibn ‘Isma’il has narrated from al-Fadl ibn Shadhan from Safwan ibn Yahya who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’, Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘A servant (of Allah) never gains a benefit better than a virtuous wife who gives him joy when he looks to her and who protects his interest in his absence.’”
4. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from al-Nawfaliy from al-Sakuniy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Having a virtuous wife is a good fortune that a man enjoys.’”
5. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ‘Isma’il ibn Hanan ibn Sadir from his father who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far, Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Of the shares forming the well-being of a Muslim one is a wife who makes him delightful when he looks at her and in his absence protects his interests and obeys his orders.’”
6. Al-FIusayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Mu’alla’ ibn Muhammad from Mansur ibn al-‘Abbas from Shu’ayb ibn Junah from Matar Mawla’ Ma‘n who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Three issues provide comfort for a believing person: a spacious house which provides privacy and in bad condition keeps him out of the sight of people, a virtuous wife who helps him in his worldly affairs and those of the life hereafter and a daughter whom he escorts out of the house on her death or on her wedding.’”
1 - محمد بن يحيى، عن أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن علي بن الحكم، عن صفوان بن مهران، عن أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): تزوجوا وزوجوا ألا فمن حظ امرء مسلم إنفاق قيمة أيمة (2) وما من شئ أحب إلى الله عز وجل من بيت يعمر في الاسلام بالنكاح وما من شئ أبغض إلى الله عز وجل من بيت يخرب في الاسلام بالفرقة - يعني الطلاق - ثم قال أبو عبد الله (عليه السلام): إن الله عز وجل إنما وكد في الطلاق وكرر فيه القول من بغضه الفرقة.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Safwan ibn Mehran who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘It is of the share of good fortune of a Muslim that female members of his family find marriage early on and there is nothing more beloved to Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, than a home that is established in Islam with marriage and there is nothing more hated to Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, than a home that is destroyed in Islam because of division, - divorce.’ Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, then said, ‘Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, has stressed on His hating divorce in repeated ways because of His extreme dislike of division.’”
1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal from ibn al-Qaddah who has said the following: “Abu ‘ Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Two Rak’at Salat (prayer) performed by a married person is more virtuous than seventy Rak’at Salat (prayer) performed by a non-married person.’” “A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ja’far ibn Muhammad al-Ash’ariy from ibn al-Qaddah from abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, a similar Hadith.”
2. Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Bandar has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Khalid from al-Jamuraniy from al-Hassan ibn Ali ibn abu Hamzah from Kulayb ibn Mu‘awiyah al-Asadiy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘By getting married one secures one-half of his religion.’ In another Hadith it is said that one must thereafter maintain piety before Allah about the other one-half.”

It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from Muhammad ibn Ali from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Khalid from Muhammad al-Asamm who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘The worthless dead among you are the unmarried ones.’”
4. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘When Yusuf met his brother, he asked, “How did you marry women after me?” He replied, “My father commanded me to do so and said, ‘If you can have so many children who will load the earth heavily with Tasbih (Allah is free of all defects), then you must do so.”””
5. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Qasim ibn Yahya from his grandfather, al-Hassan ibn Rashid from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘You must become married because the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, “Whoever wants to follow my Sunnah, must take notice that of my Sunnah is marriage.’””
6. Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated and others have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah al-Barqiy form ibn Faddal and Ja’far ibn Muhammad from ibn al-Qaddah who has said the following: “Once, a man came to abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, and he (the Imam) asked, ‘Are you married?’ The man replied, ‘No, I am not married.’ My father said, ‘I do not like to have the whole world but spend one night without wife.’ He (the Imam) then said, ‘Two Rak’at Salat (prayer) performed by a married man is better than an unmarried man’s performing Salat (prayer) the whole night and fasting during the day.’ My father gave him seven dinars and said, ‘You must get married with this.’ My father then said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Find a wife because it is helpful to increase your sustenance.’”
7. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from his father from ‘ Abd Allah ibn al-Mughirah who has said the following: “‘Abd Allah ibn al-Mughirah has narrated from abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, a similar Hadith and added the following: Muhammad ibn ‘Ubayd said, ‘I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause, I am not married.’ He (the Imam) asked, ‘Do you not have slave-girls’ or that he (the Imam) asked, ‘Do you not have mothers of your children?’ He replied, ‘Yes, I have.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘You then are not an unmarried man.’”
1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Aban ibn ‘Uthman from Hariz from Walid ibn Sabih who has said the following: “One who neglects marriage for fear of failure to feed his family has become distrustful of Allah.”’

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad and ‘Abd Allah sons of Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Hisham ibn Salim who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Once a man came to the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, and complained about his financial condition. He (the Messenger of Allah) told him to become married and he did so after which he became affluent.’”

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Salih al-Sindiy from Ja’far ibn Bashir from Ali ibn abu Hamzah from abu Basir who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Once a young man from al-Ansar (people of al- Madinah) came to the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, and complained about his needs. He (the Messenger of Allah) told him to become married. The young man said, “I feel shy to come to the Messenger of Allah to ask for help again.” A man from al-Ansar (people of al-Madinah) followed him and said, “I have a beautiful daughter.” He gave her in marriage to him. Allah granted increase in his sustenance. The young man came to the Holy Prophet, informed him of his condition and the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, said, “You, the young people, must get married.’””

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from abu ‘Abd Allah al-Jamuraniy from al-Hassan ibn Ali ibn abu Hamzah from al-Mu’min from Ishaq ibn ‘Ammar who has said the following: “This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the truth in Hadith which people narrate that a man came to the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, and complained about his financial condition. He (the Messenger of Allah) commanded him to get married. He married but then came to complain again. He (the Messenger of Allah) commanded him to get married and so on up to three times.’ Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Yes, it (Hadith) is true.’ He (the Imam) then said, ’Sustenance is with women and with the dependents to feed.’”
5. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from al-Jamuraniy from al-Hassan ibn Ali ibn abu Hamzah from Muhammad ibn Yusuf al-Tamimiy from Muhammad ibn Ja’far from his father from ancestors who has said the following: “He (the Imam), ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘One who neglects marriage because of his fear to feed his dependents has become cynical about Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, who has said, “If they are poor Allah makes rich through His generosity.’”” (24: 32)

It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from Muhammad ibn Ali from Hamdwayh ibn ‘Imran from ibn abu Layla’ who has said that ‘Asem ibn Humayd narrated to me saying the following: “Once I was with abu ‘ Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, when a man came and complained before him (the Imam) about his financial conditions. He (the Imam) commanded him to get married but his needs became more pressing and he came back again to abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, who asked about his conditions. He replied that it has worsened. He (the Imam) told him to separate. The man came back again and he (the Imam) asked about his conditions. The man replied, ‘I have become affluent and my conditions are better.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘I commanded you as I did because of the two commandments with which Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, has commanded: “Marry the single ones among you and the virtuous of your slaves and slave-girls and if you are poor Allah through His generosity will make you self-sufficient.” (24:32) “If they depart each other Allah will make each one self-sufficient through His vast resources.” (4:129)’”
7. Abu Ali al-Ash’ariy has narrated from certain persons of his people from Safwan ibn Yahya from Mu‘awiyah ibn Wahab who has said the following: “About the words of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, ‘Those who cannot find marriage must remain chaste until Allah through His generosity makes them self-sufficient,’ (24:33) he (the Imam), ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘They must become married so that (when) Allah makes them self- sufficient through His generosity.’”
