سُورَةُ القَمَرِ — continued
وَنَبِّئْهُمْ أَنَّ ٱلْمَآءَ قِسْمَةٌۢ بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ كُلُّ شِرْبٍۢ مُّحْتَضَرٌۭ٢٨ فَنَادَوْا۟ صَاحِبَهُمْ فَتَعَاطَىٰ فَعَقَرَ٢٩ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ٣٠ إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ صَيْحَةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ فَكَانُوا۟ كَهَشِيمِ ٱلْمُحْتَظِرِ٣١ وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ٣٢ كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍۭ بِٱلنُّذُرِ٣٣ إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِبًا إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٍۢ ۖ نَّجَّيْنَٰهُم بِسَحَرٍۢ٣٤ نِّعْمَةًۭ مِّنْ عِندِنَا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى مَن شَكَرَ٣٥ وَلَقَدْ أَنذَرَهُم بَطْشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا۟ بِٱلنُّذُرِ٣٦ وَلَقَدْ رَٰوَدُوهُ عَن ضَيْفِهِۦ فَطَمَسْنَآ أَعْيُنَهُمْ فَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ٣٧ وَلَقَدْ صَبَّحَهُم بُكْرَةً عَذَابٌۭ مُّسْتَقِرٌّۭ٣٨ فَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ٣٩ وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ٤٠ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ ٱلنُّذُرُ٤١ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذْنَٰهُمْ أَخْذَ عَزِيزٍۢ مُّقْتَدِرٍ٤٢ أَكُفَّارُكُمْ خَيْرٌۭ مِّنْ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكُمْ أَمْ لَكُم بَرَآءَةٌۭ فِى ٱلزُّبُرِ٤٣ أَمْ يَقُولُونَ نَحْنُ جَمِيعٌۭ مُّنتَصِرٌۭ٤٤ سَيُهْزَمُ ٱلْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ ٱلدُّبُرَ٤٥ بَلِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ مَوْعِدُهُمْ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ أَدْهَىٰ وَأَمَرُّ٤٦ إِنَّ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ وَسُعُرٍۢ٤٧ يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِى ٱلنَّارِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا۟ مَسَّ سَقَرَ٤٨ إِنَّا كُلَّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقْنَٰهُ بِقَدَرٍۢ٤٩

﴿ ٥٣٠ ﴾

Translation, verse by verse
  1. 54:28

    Inform them that the water is to be shared between them; each of them showing up at his turn.’

  2. 54:29

    But they called their companion, and he took [a knife] and hamstrung [her].

  3. 54:30

    So how were My punishment and My warnings?!

  4. 54:31

    We sent against them a single Cry, and they became like the dry sticks of a corral builder.

  5. 54:32

    Certainly We have made the Quran simple for the sake of admonishment. So is there anyone who will be admonished?

  6. 54:33

    And the people of Lot denied the warnings.

  7. 54:34

    We unleashed upon them a rain of stones, excepting the family of Lot, whom We delivered at dawn

  8. 54:35

    as a blessing from Us. Thus do We reward those who give thanks.

  9. 54:36

    He had already warned them of Our punishment, but they disputed the warnings.

  10. 54:37

    They even solicited of him his guests, whereat We blotted out their eyes, [saying,] ‘Taste My punishment and My warnings!’

  11. 54:38

    Early at dawn there visited them an abiding punishment:

  12. 54:39

    ‘Taste My punishment and warnings!’

  13. 54:40

    Certainly We have made the Quran simple for the sake of admonishment. So is there anyone who will be admonished?

  14. 54:41

    Certainly the warnings did come to Pharaoh’s clan

  15. 54:42

    who denied all of Our signs. So We seized them with the seizing of One [who is] all-mighty, Omnipotent.

  16. 54:43

    Are your faithless better than those? Have you [been granted] [some sort of] immunity in the scriptures?

  17. 54:44

    Do they say, ‘We are a confederate league’?

  18. 54:45

    The league will be routed and turn its back [to flee].

  19. 54:46

    Indeed, the Hour is their tryst; and the Hour will be most calamitous and bitter.

  20. 54:47

    Indeed the guilty are steeped in error and madness.

  21. 54:48

    The day when they are dragged on their faces into the Fire, [it will be said to them,] ‘Taste the touch of hell!’

  22. 54:49

    Indeed We have created everything in a measure,
