سُورَةُ القَمَرِ — continued
خُشَّعًا أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلْأَجْدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمْ جَرَادٌۭ مُّنتَشِرٌۭ٧ مُّهْطِعِينَ إِلَى ٱلدَّاعِ ۖ يَقُولُ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا يَوْمٌ عَسِرٌۭ٨ ۞ كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍۢ فَكَذَّبُوا۟ عَبْدَنَا وَقَالُوا۟ مَجْنُونٌۭ وَٱزْدُجِرَ٩ فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّى مَغْلُوبٌۭ فَٱنتَصِرْ١٠ فَفَتَحْنَآ أَبْوَٰبَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَآءٍۢ مُّنْهَمِرٍۢ١١ وَفَجَّرْنَا ٱلْأَرْضَ عُيُونًۭا فَٱلْتَقَى ٱلْمَآءُ عَلَىٰٓ أَمْرٍۢ قَدْ قُدِرَ١٢ وَحَمَلْنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ ذَاتِ أَلْوَٰحٍۢ وَدُسُرٍۢ١٣ تَجْرِى بِأَعْيُنِنَا جَزَآءًۭ لِّمَن كَانَ كُفِرَ١٤ وَلَقَد تَّرَكْنَٰهَآ ءَايَةًۭ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ١٥ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ١٦ وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ١٧ كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌۭ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ١٨ إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًۭا صَرْصَرًۭا فِى يَوْمِ نَحْسٍۢ مُّسْتَمِرٍّۢ١٩ تَنزِعُ ٱلنَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍۢ مُّنقَعِرٍۢ٢٠ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ٢١ وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ٢٢ كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِٱلنُّذُرِ٢٣ فَقَالُوٓا۟ أَبَشَرًۭا مِّنَّا وَٰحِدًۭا نَّتَّبِعُهُۥٓ إِنَّآ إِذًۭا لَّفِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ وَسُعُرٍ٢٤ أَءُلْقِىَ ٱلذِّكْرُ عَلَيْهِ مِنۢ بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٌۭ٢٥ سَيَعْلَمُونَ غَدًۭا مَّنِ ٱلْكَذَّابُ ٱلْأَشِرُ٢٦ إِنَّا مُرْسِلُوا۟ ٱلنَّاقَةِ فِتْنَةًۭ لَّهُمْ فَٱرْتَقِبْهُمْ وَٱصْطَبِرْ٢٧

Translation, verse by verse
  1. 54:7

    they will emerge from the graves as if they were scattered locusts with a humbled look [in their eyes],

  2. 54:8

    scrambling toward the summoner. The faithless will say, ‘This is a hard day!’

  3. 54:9

    The people of Noah impugned before them. So they impugned Our servant and said, ‘A crazy man,’ and he was reviled.

  4. 54:10

    Thereat he invoked his Lord, [saying,] ‘I have been overcome, so help [me].’

  5. 54:11

    Then We opened the gates of the sky with pouring waters,

  6. 54:12

    and We made the earth burst forth with springs, and the waters met for a preordained purpose.

  7. 54:13

    We bore him on a vessel made of planks and nails,

  8. 54:14

    which sailed [over the flood waters] in Our sight, as a retribution for him who was met with disbelief.

  9. 54:15

    Certainly We have left it as a sign; so is there anyone who will be admonished?

  10. 54:16

    So how were My punishment and warnings?

  11. 54:17

    Certainly We have made the Quran simple for the sake of admonishment. So is there anyone who will be admonished?

  12. 54:18

    [The people of] ‘Ad impugned [their apostle]. So how were My punishment and warnings?

  13. 54:19

    Indeed We unleashed upon them an icy gale on an incessantly ill-fated day,

  14. 54:20

    knocking down people as if they were trunks of uprooted palm trees.

  15. 54:21

    So how were My punishment and warnings?!

  16. 54:22

    Certainly We have made the Quran simple for the sake of admonishment. So is there anyone who will be admonished?

  17. 54:23

    [The people of] Thamud denied the warnings,

  18. 54:24

    and they said, ‘Are we to follow a lone human from ourselves?! Indeed then we would be in error and madness.’

  19. 54:25

    ‘Has the Reminder been cast upon him from among us? No, he is a self-conceited liar.’

  20. 54:26

    ‘Tomorrow they will know who is a self-conceited liar.

  21. 54:27

    We are sending the She-camel as a trial for them; so watch them and be steadfast.
